Damn, would it be possible for me to find a really ugly and willing wench and cast a glamor so she looks like queen? If illusions cannot make women attractive I'll have to turn to house ale.

100 gold!!! She is so ugly she should be paying me. Maybe I have been spending too much time chasing women and some adventure is in order. I'll work the room for a while, buy an ale or two and see what exciement is to be had for adventures in this town. Do I find anything interesting? Ideally a group of adventurers looking for skills of someone that open a door or lock would be perfect, but beggars can't be choosers.

There is a group of barbarians sitting in the corner, grouped around an ornate box-obviously there is some thing(s) of value in the box. Apparently they don't have a key to it, since they are pounding on it with various clubs ( more than likely they won it from a fight or stole it in a plunder-who knows with these barbarians?). You should look into it, the leader looks willing to share if someone could open it.

Well I'm normally suspicious of people that much taller than myself, but they look more likely to beat the box than a little gnome so I'll give it a try and see if they would like a hand. "Greetings, perhaps you fine Barbarians would like a hand getting into that box? For a share of the spoils I think I could open it without damaging the contents."

The barbarians agree after some mumbled disputes-one gets beat with a club for arguing and falls over dead-you can check the body for valuables later. As for the box, you take a look and discover it to an easy to open lock. You have an old pick on you, and that's it.

Since the lock looks easy I'll attempt to pick it with the pick I have unless I can tell right away it does not work. I don't want to look the fool! If the contents of the box looks good, I'll attemt to negotiate my share, if not I'll check the body of the barbarian while everyone is distracted for any unneeds coins he may have.

the lock opens easily enough, and everyone crowds around to see what's in it. Inside the box, you find a small dagger and assassin cloak(offers speed + and stealth). Underneath this are 500 coins and a small medallion. Apparently the medallion is what they wanted, because they all become excited. They give you the cloak and dagger in reward, but keep the money and medallion. You check the body of the fallen barbarian, and discover a decent pair of shoes, a +5 health potion and 50 coins. Take what you like out of this, but let me know....

yea Soul. I decide to gather fruit and then to prepare for my journey and to look for weak animals to kill i dont' care if im an elf. Glad ur having fun. If you resign for a while ill take over. and then you can have it back when u want

Ok, I’ll take the dagger, assassin cloak, +5 health potion, and the 50 coins. Since everyone is happy, I’ll buy the Barbarians a round of drinks (or several) to see if I can loosen their tongues about where they got the box and see if there might be more treasure to be found. If I get any leads from this or not, I want to see if I can buy a better set of picks before leaving town.

The barbarians have already left, but the locks are availabe at the shop under the bar. Apparently, you have discovered the local thieve's guild. They offer to let you join in you can pass an initiation test. They will award you with quests and a free master lockpick. You will also be able to purchase skill training from the guild leader.

You find a wild bear. It has rabies, or it just ate something really bad-it's foaming at the mouth. Your camp has been set up, but nobody has stopped by. The bear doesn't notice you, so you can surprise it with an attack from behind. *note-you have no weapons or armor, and attacking the bear with your hands would be suicide.

Excellent, I knew there was something I liked aobut this pub. I wish to join the local guild and would like to take the initiation challenge. What do I need to do?

well, you have to unlock a door. not just any door, though. It's a door to the lair of a giant. Inside the lair is a treasure. The giant will kill you if he sees you, so you have to prove your sneaky and skilled. good luck to you if you choose to accept, is what they say to you. They think you should be able to, though

I'm not going to walk away from an opportunity like this. I will attepmt to pick the lock using all stealth possible. If there is a keyhole I will look trhough and make sure the giant is not near the door. I will also oil the hinges and lock if either is possible to keep the noise down. I'm also guessing I have some soft leather shoes or something, but if I have "noisy" footware I will remove that and go barefoot. I will also be wearing my cloak.

Once I pick the lock I will continue to wear my cloak and move away from the door to cast a glamor to help my hide in shadows skill. I will then use my move siletly and hide in shadows to explore the room looking for the treasure.

you succeed in finding the treasure, and escape unnoticed. the thieves laugh because you went a little overboard, but you are now part of the thieves guild. you now have a master's lockpick

You manage to kill the bear, but escape with a loss of 5 hit points. you will have to pay a hunter to skin the bear. you have no skills in this department.
