My Poem RATE IT PLEASE - Blizzard Sector

Well was for a school project its supposed to be a free-verse poem...

I Am From… By: Dynafrom Wang

I am from cans of coke

From clocks and lamps

To phones and beds

To the smelly garbage can,

Right beside the broom

I am from trees to leaves

From stones to pebbles

To the squirrels running around the tree

From broken branches to fallen leaves

And the lone punching bag hanging in need

I am from a frozen boulder

From the snow and the ice

To the cars and the bikes

To the random hockey sticks, carved into the ice

Abandoned in the street are the road posts and lamps,

Always in urgency

I am from memories, Kevin is a name

A name it is and a name to dwell,

Times of fun, times of joy

His name is Kevin and that’s his name

I am from a second in time,

When quotes like “There is no time”,

Become a lie, but can’t be forgotten

Because time cannot be forgotten,

Time is how much you know,

So lets pray that time does not stop its flow

I am from a famous dish,

One that brings back all the memories

Its name was called by many “Hot Pot”

To me its just a steamy broth in which we,

Lower the food into the broth and just wait…

For the food to be ripened because we never eat it rare

I am from Las Vegas

A city that never sleeps

All night the lights are on,

Ecstasy in the air… , none that you will find anywhere.

I didn't quite get the meaning of it. Was it that people come from the industry and you should never let go of your roots?

Humm it was supposed to be....

first verse- something from my house
2nd- my backyard
3rd-neighbourhood
4th-someone i knew once
5th- a quote
6th- a dish from my culture
7th- a place

well its too bad they gave you some kind of regulations as to what you were to write about, cause total free-verse is awesome. nice going though; i like the Whitman style of repeating the words (as well as his method of writing about hims
