Boneflame is garbage, but you could probably get a decent mid rune for it if your lucky.

Depends, some necs use s/s with max block making them nearly impossible to be killed by melee if played correctly, Some use Hommy with max block for the + skills and block, other nub necs use spirit shield, while spirit shield is nice you'll get raped by any good bvc/melee din/bowa zon. Spirit is the way to go though if your dueling casters, however I myself prefer a 2 pnb 3 bone spear 2 jah'd nec head but spirit shield will do too.
