Many players who want to join a clan usually find themselves asking: "What clan should I join anyways?" For some it's the first clan they see, for others, their expectations are so high that they end up staying alone. Most usually end up finding a decent-enough clan, but they either end up leaving it due to inactivity or watch it fall apart. There are some good clans out there and I'd like to think this is one of them.
I am the leader of Clan GIS- Guardian's Inner Sanctum. I founded this clan about a year ago because I was in so many clans that failed that I decided to make my own and do things right.
So what's so 'great' about Clan GIS? Well, for starters, it's a clan that won't fall apart over the weekend like most clans do. We're active in the forums and online. Although fairly large, the clan remains as personal as anybody could possibly want. Also:

Over 40 forums and sub-forums, so there’s always something to talk about. The forums are a great place to lounge around, chat, and get to know your fellow gamers.
A diverse player base. We have plenty of rich players, plenty of people that are new to the game, and just about everything in between. In this clan, you'll always feel like you're among friends; I practically guarantee it.
A GFX community. If you’re into GFX (experienced or still new), you can check out the tutorials, open up your own sig/ava shop, and test your skills against other members, and other websites. If you’re not a huge gamer, you can just join our forum as a GFX member. If you’re not into GFX, you can still have forum sigs/avatars created for you by members of the GFX team for free.
A competitive duel ranking system. The clan isn’t centered around dueling, but if you’re into dueling, you can test/improve your skills if you decide to join up with us. There’s even an elite ESCNL dueling division within the clan, so if you’re really good, you can try out for that.
No tags required (although many members choose to use tags since there are advantages to it).
Your voice will be heard. Almost all of the changes/decisions that are made are voted on by everyone in the clan who wishes to. The voting is done in polls in which all members can cast their votes. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to post their suggestions or feedback in the suggestions/feedback forum.
A forum arcade. There are over 40 fun games with working high scores so you can see how your score stacks up against other clan members. Make sure to try out the arcade if you decide to join up with us.

Requirements:

Maturity: We are a mature guild, and are only looking for mature members. Although age isn't always the best determinant of maturity, you must be at least 16 years old if you want to join the clan. Exceptions can be made for people that are younger than that, but act like they're at least 16.
Respect: Treat your fellow clan members as equals. Nobody is a better person than anybody else, regardless of their experience or wealth.
Obedience: As all clans, we have rules. You are expected to follow them.
Selflessness: We don't want people to come to us looking for free items or a quick way to get rich.
Loyalty: You cannot be a part of another clan if you want to join us, unless you're in that clan because they play a game that we don't have an official division in yet (wc3, Guild Wars, WoW, etc).

If you're interested in joining, go to http://www.clangis.com/forums, and register. After that, fill out the application thread. Also, feel free to introduce yourself in the "Introductions" forum.
If you don't play the games/realms we play, are already in another clan, or don't think this is the right clan for you, then you are still more than welcome to join the forum board and use the trade forums, the game discussion forums, or hang around and talk about anything else you might want to talk about. Plus, if you do decide to join the clan, we'll already know you ^_^

Games/Realms: Diablo 2 LoD: East and West softcore ladder and non ladder, as well as Starcraft. We also have unofficial divisions in Warcraft 3: TFT, as well as Guild Wars (already have a guild hall, even though the division is still technically 'unofficial')

I have a couple questions.. is this clan legit? hacks allowed?

how about how many are thar in east ladder?

..im just asking becuase I like to keep record of what clans are out there besides the one I am already in.. also you may hear from me if I ever plan to leave but I do not plan to do so anyways anytime soon .. becuase the clan I am in is great.

We do allow 3rd party programs such as bots and maphack and other self-help programs (although we do not promote their use), but we're firmly against programs that harm others such as AA, TPPK, snagit, farcast, etc. I belive that more than half of the clan is legit only.

On east ladder we probably have around 20-30 active members currently.

If you're accepted (after filling out the application in the application forum), you will no longer see the application forum. Also, your member group will have changed from "Forum Member" to "Guild Member"

If you don't mind my saying (or even if you do), that's a pretty ignorant post you just made. This clan (and my idea of 'clans' in general) is all about finding mature and like-minded people that share similar interests with you. A friend's list on d2 has a max of 25 slots, but in a clan, there is no max to how many friends you can make :P. Besides, it's a lot easier to make friends in a clan than on b.net because you already have something in common with everybody else: you're in the clan. The best part of the clan (in my opinion) is the forum, and surely you yourself understand the benefits of having a forum since you're here posting on one. It's sort of like the same thing as this place, except everybody's more open and friendly with everybody else. Sure, a few people there aren't crazy about each other, but they don't fued with each other using the forum as a medium.

You can duel against other clans 3v3 and 4v4 using actual teamwork instead of just joining pub games and killing anyone you see- but you can do that with your friends as well. Nobody's going to order you around on d2, or at least not in this clan. Being a part of GIS lets you do the things you like to do (except bm, aa, farcast), and participating with the clan only as much as you want. You can join and only look for people to duel against, or you can just use the [active] trade forums. You can also seek help and advice on how to build a char, where to exp run at certaint lvls, or pretty much anything d2 related. You can give and recive rushes, join clan baal runs, ironman tournaments, and all kinds of fun stuff. I can't imagine how someone could not be interested in joining a clan like this one

I joined the clan very early on, and have stayed with it the whole way. I would just like to say this clan IS a very nice place, I have met many people, made a lot of friends, very few enemies(and this was not of the clans doing either), and I find it to be just an all around great community.

I now have to clear and re-build my friends list monthly-weekly because there are so many people I play with, I keep those who have been most active for the last weekish on and remove the other to add more active memebers lol. Of course I don't mean it is tedious to have so many friends, or that members fall out of activity a lot, just showing you how active and populated we are. I find having friends just from B.Net can be iffy sometimes, because a lot of the time people are only my friend after they see my gear or I give them frees, in other words, they want my items O.o.

I highly suggest joining, trying it out, and if you don't like what you see or take part in you can always just leave and find a new clan or solo. The dueling is always fun, me and a few clan memebers go pubbing every now and then, though we usualy private duel and practise to pwn bmers and hackers lol. Hotshot's second in command is a very fluent caster duelist, and tends to be suspected of using programs such as AA with his FCR light sorc lol.

We also have a great Co-Op section, and Discussion threads. We support co-op playing very much, and this includes g-rushes, reg rushes, exp runs, dueling, just baaling for fun, magic finding, whatever you are into. If you like debating topics, I suggest you check out the Podium, in which we have more formal arguements. Also, just for a laugh, check out the Joke Forum, where we have tons of (what I think is) funny shit.

No, tags are optional. There are certain benifits to having Tagged characters, like being in the DEEP section (it's a section for elite duelists), though if you wanted to do that we also have a willing to help thread, which I have linked in my sig on the site. Anyone who's name is posted in it Ladder/NL wll help you on USEast (though our USWest members would probably be happy to help you also). We have a "rushmaster", and if you have 50+ posts and 35 FG from our site(1 FG/post, and 5 for joining, so you will have 35 FG by that time lol), he will grush you for that.

Basically you can, and I certainly encourage you to, though it is not a must. Even if you just want to hang out around the site, feel free to just stay a forum member, though you will be restricted to posting priveliges for certain areas. We are very leaniant when it comes to stuff like this, mostly because we are just more-so a clan for friend to play together and have fun, not like some of the clans out there that are all about hacking and scamming, then some are all about certain other things like BM dueling, like clan EcKo.

Well the FG charging just tries to keep activeness up in the site. I haven't been here that long and I can see the once great site is either on a decline or a lot of people are going on Vacation. Though that is nice of you to do it for free.

Actually most people in the clan rush for free. I think ralh asks a few gold off of newer members because some people just join, get some help with rushes and what not, and then mysteriously disappear.
