Default Computer to Stereo system? - 11-02-2007, 09:45 AM

When I try to hook my computer up to my stereo, the sound comes out very low. What is causing this to happen?

Either wires not being connected correctly / fully (All the way). My stereo is connected and I had to shove the wires right in to get it to come out with full sound, just keep messing with it. =]

My stereo is 2 towers putting out a thousand watts a side, with 2 12 inch subs in each side, took me 3 days some 10 gauge speaker wire and an amp the size of a mix table

if you do what jesus and them said and it still doesn't work you could try turning up your volume controls

if you have an older stereo, you might have to disable digital-output from your pc.

Depends you can get the old reliable 2 rca to headphone plug and do it through the aux on your stero.

Also depends on your sound card if u got a good one with right cables u can get a nice crisp surround sound going with it.

I tried it with my stereo and it wouldn't work either. Maybe they take special cable that you have to change out?

A big stereo system requires big electricity and hardware. Your sound card may not support such big sound.

^^Well any new mother board has sufficient sound card capable of hooking up a surround sound hi-fi. atm i just have a two race to a earphone jack connectiong my sound and it work fine.

Or maybe by one of these new logitech surround sound systems they not that expensive and give out pretty good sound.

Sound cards play a very important role in its amplitude. Much like a receiver for a tv, hooking up to large surround sound speakers, the receiver itself since when I was little to now has always been very very big, many have at least 500+ watts which is standard.
