Thanks for this thread! I just picked up three new clients who need websites developed and I am using the deposit money to go buy a new computer! This guide told me a lot of useful information!

Hm. On making the computer yourself. I suggest go to Newegg and click on the tab Computer Hardware. On the left there will be many sections for each part of the computer. You can then click on each category you may have to click another subcategory. Then you can select your price range, there will also be a drop-down menu and click Best Rating, or Most Reviews. Other websites for parts or info are TigerDirect.com, TomsHardware.com(talks about new products) and a forum I belong to out of Australia is LegionHardware.com ( they help from cheap builds to a $5k build and pretty much everything inbetween. the guy who owns/runs it actually tests everything out himself)
