Default Can't Install D2 LOD - 07-25-2007, 06:48 PM

I had to re install recently and I installed classic perfectly fine. But when I try to install LOD it keeps getting stuck at installing d2music.mpq. I don'I had to re install recently and I installed classic perfectly fine. But when I try to install LOD it keeps getting stuck at installing d2music.mpq. The weird thing is, I put in the LOD disc, click on upgrade to LOD then it asks for the classic play disc right away, then it will get stuck at the d2music.mpq part. I can play classic fine with the play disc, and when I install classic, everything goes fine, don't know why this happens, I just tried reinstalling everything a few times and always happens, the play disc will just stop spinning part way thru and it'll ask to insert the play disc, I hit ok, nothing happens for a bit and then it asks for it again. Anyway I can get around this?

I was thinking of downloading a torrent for expansion, but I think when I will go to install it, it will ask for the play disc and it will happen again. The disc is in good condtion, dont know whats wrong

Thanks FrogMan for the Sig!

i am not sure about you installing it manually. but if you do it the torrent way, it wont ask for the disk, as far as i know. you have to burn the iso files to a blank disk though. so it shouldnt happen then because your using a torrents version of LOD.

Try downloading all of them off a torrent and installing it that way, I used to have problems with the discs also thus the reason I downloaded the torrent instead.

You don't need to burn the disks, you can just mount them. Why do people always burn?

when you mount, it makes it as a virtual drive. which is a waste of space IMO.

You can't afford a temporary 700MB of information until you patch the .exe (or mount a mini-disc image)? I just bought a brand-new 500GB Western-Digital SATA2 16MB hard-drive for $99.99. However, burning the disc, which would cost anywhere from $0.25 to $.50 is a waste of time and money in my opinion if your only going to use it once.
