Question Vista ReadyBoost? - 06-12-2007, 09:08 AM

Anyone had much experience with VistaReady boost?
Using a 1GB Sandisk SD card in my laptops card reader with it atm. Deciding if i should get a 2gb SD card or a 2/4gb USB Key.

Anyone noticed any difference between SD cards and the like and USB Devices?

its a bit sluggish using sd card since it tries to read every square fragment in the card...so i wouldnt recommend it luke.. I have vistaready boost on a 80gb external and it runs fine. got it at walmart for 70 bucks...i was feeling cheap that day

Hey dont hate on walmart i get all my western HD from there But ya dude if you even goto think about going in gigz with removable drives then u should just save your money and go external. your going to pay 1/2 the price for a dummy drive or SD as it would cost for a IED to USB converter/ and a nice 60-80 HD. And for that call up IT techs that work for A+ companys u can pick up a 80 gig thats used and works for around 25 bucks."sometimes less, upon who you know. Woot Gangsta

Im only after the 4gb flash drive for readyboost use. + a flash drive WILL be faster than an external drive as the read times for files are faster than a HDD.

I already have 2x320gb sata-300 external drives. and getting a 500gb one this week.

I used the ready boost on a 4gb sandisk. Did not notice much difference. But using a 4gb. Somtimes I still had times where I wished it was bigger. I got mine on sale for 50 dollars.
