no point upgrading to a pci-e graphics card like a 6800 or 7600 with that proc, even at 3 ghz its running at 400mhz fsb. plus to get a new board you will need to upgrade ram (your ram again, is too slow) a new harddrive (you have IDE, you need SATA), and a new proc (core2duo's are REALLY ****ING CHEAP!). There is no point upgrading you card with current system spec's, it would all just bottleneck and you wont get much of a preformance increase.

You should just really custom build your computer. Everything pretty much plugs into then holes on the mainboard and all you really need to do is read the specs on your board to see what you need exactly. I would never personally buy a prebuilt computer in my life because of all the problems they have and all the custom programs that come on them. I been building my own computers for about 2 years now and yah the first time was kind of confusing in a way but its well worth it. You get a lot more out of your money if you do it this way.

yeh i was thinking that but knowing my luck i would stuff it up somehow. by custom build u mean start with a tower and work ur way up or just replace parts in this comp?

By custom i mean getting all new stuff and putting it together yourself. Your going to have to tell me what kind of case you have right now because sometimes cases can't be used again. Most of the times they can't if you got yours prebuilt by a company because most "good" mainboards are very large. You should just go to a local computer shop look for a good motherboard. One that can handle a lot like 4 gigs of ram and 2 graphics card slots "Pci express" or something of that sort. You know you can always build on it to make it better if you get a big mainboard.

ok, all i can find on the case is a little sticker saying "A Case Open", is that the type of case? the only trouble with going down to a local computer shop is i live in a small town which doesn't have one and the closest is about 500km away so its abit hard.

holy cow.. well that totally ruins the website links.. as all of them are american stores. i cant help you. sorry. but given your location, just stick with what you have for the time being.
i guess it is best for you to go local.
there are alot of guides on the internet on how to put a computer together. its not hard at all, and you will learn alot

Would that be an alright idea?

that would be a good idea, asking him. i honestly dont know how you are going to get the parts. it may be cheaper to get them all at once, say through a website, or to get them separately.
