I have to do this ''Self Cert'' shit at school which they install programs for us..set up networking and everything. It happened 3 weeks ago. After that , i switched the comp on, LOADS OF SHITASS error...SVChost and everything. It literally hangs sometimes, can't shutdown,EXTREMELY slow transfer rate. I've not downloaded anything suspicious or weird, only Windows Live. Of all the shutdown i've done, 90% is via ''Hard'' way...Holding switch button. Main problem is see is that the Taskbar will 'hang'. Doesnt move or anything, time stagnant etc. I've defragmented...not much use. Is there anyway besides reformatting? |

You can just spend 30-45 minutes reformatting and start from square one again installing the programs. If this problem continues to happen after that i suggest posting problems in the exact words and i will see what i can do about them. |

HOWEVER! this will cause problems to your sound, your network, your drivers, and many other things. The other way, which causes no secondary problems, is to get a programme called Process Explorer. It's like a very advanced task manager. You get the program, and make a shortcut to the desktop. When your computer starts hanging, try to open the programme (it is automatically set to high priority I believe, so even the fact that the svchost is taking up most of your CPU, it will run). Once you get it open, find the svchost using most of the CPU, right click and open its properties. Go to the threads tab and arrange by CPU usage, and then kill the thread that is using most of the CPU. You'll have to do this every time, I have yet to find a permanent fix other than reformatting =/ also, you might have a virus that goes by the name of scvhost, NOT SVCHOST. Look up on google on how to get rid of that, but if its the actual svchost then you'll have to do what I've been doing for the past 3 or 4 months =/ |
