Your probaboly gunna want to get more ram because the 2400 is a low end dell. Also you should post how much ram you have and your processor's speed

ok first of all, u need at least 512 DDR ram. I suggest gettting 1GB of DDR2 tho, since it will increase performance greatly.
Before u make ANY upgrades to your computer, make sure ur POWER SUPPLY can handle anything new u wish to buy. Your power supply has to have the same, or more, watts than any new hardware u buy requires. If u have a 350 watt, I think that would be enough for a geforce 6800GT. Also u might wanna put a fan next to ur computer, cuz im guessing it's gonna overheat since dell sucks

a 2400...sounds old. if it is, it might not accept ddr2, best to check its schemes first. dell should have it posted. if i remember right, it does get sluggish but thats usually cause the threads the board is made of is quite thin. I hate dells, they always do that. try to get 1gig, 512 at least. as for video, most dells i had to deal with only handled a 256 video between the 2200-2600 series. (friends like dell. they never learn)

as the resident dell expert, i can tell u now that the dell 2400 does not offer graphics upgrades, it has no AGP or PCI x16 slots. you are stuck with the intergrated graphics. and btw i feel sorry that u have to use celeron

GeForce: Very good card for games.

ATI: Very good card for video, photo and general PC use. Good card for games.

I suggest you choose either an ATI card or a GeForce card depending on what you do more on your computer. I am currently using an old GeForce and will probably update to an ATI AllInWonder (video card, tv tuner, tv out) which is a good video card, you can watch TV on your comp and you can put your computers screen (say if you have a movie playing on comp) onto the TV screen.

beg to differ..the dimension 2400 uses moderated celeron up to p4. usually p4. and it has 1-2 pci open. (i work with 2400s on and off in the town nearby for repairs...they usually only accept nvidia) as for intergrated graphics, it has none. lol. dell is too cheap to put anything decent in a 2200-2600 series. i forgot to add that if you do get memory, get a matching pc setting. we mixed pc300 with pc444 once and the dell started rejecting both.
