I wouldn't go dell. I've bought a dell desktop and my dad has bought a dell laptop. The performance blows because dell uses celeron (i think thats how you spell it) which states that their cpu's run at 2.6 ghz but in actuality run slower than my 1.5 ghz other comp. Dell computers are cheap for a reason.
I can't give you much info about other places that sell laptops though.
they all dont use celeron, u probably got one from a newspaper promotion or tv ad, not actually shopped around, they use mostly pentium M now. some laptops use celeron yes, but i think tool knows enough to look around and also look at FSB
my dell desktop has pentium 4. before i started putting junk on it it ran fine but it could have been better. also probably because its a demension 2400 the rock bottom cheapest one at the time.
I've already looked at Dell. A majority of the laptops I saw couldn't be customized to something other than Celeron so it is safe to assume the majority of their computers are Celeron. I've told you one and I'll tell you again, Dell is the worst computer company in the world.
First, I am very happy with the performance of the Dell Pentium machines I have. Of course I didn't by discounted, out of date, base models either.
Second, I recently picked up a mid-level laptop at CompUSA that met all expectations, needs and budgets. Shop around; if you already know what you want odds are someone has it on sale already. One of the sights I looked at while shopping (I think it was Dell again) had "needs calculator" where you entered generic needs and it gave you an optimum laptop setup with specs. You could take that and use it to shop around.
Second of all, the Dells that are not base models, not outdated, and not discounted are ****ing expensive as shit. Cost more than they're worth.
any experienced computer user would not recommend a dell.....Also on most upgrades unless its made by dell you cant even use it...and if you buy a dell you better buy the 4 year warranty or your going to regret it 4 months later when everything goes wrong I suggest , Emachine, or Apple.... i dont know weither you intend to play games or what tho
Well, sadly, I've decided to go with a Dell because they, amazingly, have cheaper Pentium laptops than HP. I'm going to kick myself in the ass for it sometime probably... But oh well.
told u, plus go with latitude, insperon's generally suck cept the 6000 thats a kickass laptop
um, i've had a dell laptop for 6+ years...only problem i had was the charger cord got ****ed up but that was my fault
Ya, I have an Inspiron 6000; very popular amongst college students 'cause it's a very good laptop for multimedia stuff. I just happened to get it cheaper (I forget price though) cause there was a sale on it, and also getting it with an extra school discount made it even cheaper. Like someone said earlier, it's probably good to know what your intentions are (gaming, work, combination..)
