in my opinion but it really isnt an opinion BUILDING YOUR OWN COMPUTER IS CHEAPER!!!!!!!!!! got to
newegg.com
tigerdirect.com
my friend bought the worst labtop ever for really cheap and then just upgraded it himself and turned out to be $200 less than the comp he was looking at. DIY is the way to go because alot of the cost goes into the building and wiring and all that junk which is acctualy very easy to do.

You, my friend, are a moron. The only thing you can "build" as far as laptops go is upgrading the RAM, hard drive, CD drives, and I THINK the graphics card. So go shove it, I know that building a *** damn computer is cheaper.

Ok ok,
GO mac they have a new laptop that kicks ass trust me. The performance is great and its ram is really nice. Dell computers aren't cheap they are just the right price for their performance LOL....Go mac bro thay aren't too expensive and they are twice as better as dell any day easily. You should change your mind and go with mac trust me you will like it. When I am at work I use the mac to play d2 kicks ass and has really nice performance plus on top of d2 I have other games on it war 3, WoW, starcraft, and splinter cell. It still runs really nicely.

I'm looking for a place to buy mid-end laptops for a cheap place besides eBay. When I say mid-end I mean at least 2 GHz CPU, 512 MB RAM, 40 gig HD.

You guys really need to stop suggesting to me all of these high-end expensive laptops dude. I'm pretty sure I said I wanted the cheapest possible.
What exactly do you want again? Correct me if I'm wrong but a 2 ghz seems high-end to me at least.
You should stop flaming people who are trying to help you.

yes but u also said 2 ghz, nowdays amost all pentium procesors for a laptop are pentium M, and those dont run that fast, AMD generally has a slower clock speed, that leaves u with P4 laptops, which are expensive and harder to find, or high end AMD, which would still be expensive, and btw u said mid-end not low end

Yeah, I'm not getting a laptop with a 2 GHz CPU because I thought they weren't high-end. Boy was I wrong.

I'm looking for a computer I can take with me to do homework and shit like that when I'm away from my desktop PC.

@Balls_r_us: Mac is probably the WORST OS ever coded. The software for it is shitty as ****. Lack of support from 3rd party developers really, really, really, really kicks them in the ass. You're obviously just a Mac fanboy. And no, I'm not a Windows fanboy, I actually have a Mac but I'm selling it because they suck my balls.

Im looking at a Dell Inspiron 9400 myself at the moment!. Seem pretty nice.
The intel Duo processor is rather good so ive heard. look for some comparitive benchmarks with others such as AMD.. even though im an amd fan... unfortunately AMD just havent mastered the mobility side of things yet

pricewatch.com shops around for you. just type in what you want in the search, and it will bring up everything on the web for ya. its what i use when me and the roomie are buildin comps for people. www.pricewatch.com has the cheapest of the good quality. and the cheapest of the cheap, depends on what ya want. but remember, it is always cheaper to just buy the parts and put it together yourself.
