question about more memory

ok well i'm not very computer smart so bare with me. if i was to get more memory in my comp they would have to take the old memory chips out right. so would i lose everything i have on my computer? or do they just add more memory cards?

if you are talking about ram then no you wont lose anything. your files are saved on your hard drive not ram. also it depends on how many slots you have. if you have some empty slots you can just add to it.

oh my bad i'm talking about hardrive. i shoulda asked the guys when i got a ram upgrade to 512.
