cheaper, yes. more powerful, no. and if u try sayin i'll just go AMD then i'll use alienware, since they sell AMD
oh and dell is makin a limited edition, limited release of a xps system, i dont remember all of the specs, but it will have 4 nvidia 7800 GTX in quaddrouble SLI
i cant remember when its comming out though, give me some time and i'll get a pic of it

For that to run without exploding they'd need a liquid cooling system or a case made of fans, which I have actually seen.
Speaking of cooling, anyone seen the computer some kid in Korea modified by hooking it up to a mini freezer for cooling and was able to overclock a 2 ghz P4 to around 4 ghz?
Yeah Spoon, I have. I've also seen a computer cooled by liquid nitrogen. And cooking oil. And some company is releasing (no, this is NOT bullshit) a computer with something like 180 processors all cooled by water, of course. I'm pretty sure it won't be for regular people though. And Dustoid, THE CPUS ARE FROM AMD! OH EM GEE!!!
Edit: Looking at the XPS website.

Wow. False advertisement like no other.
Also, I don't get why people put their shit in SLI. Sure you get more performance, but you're paying 100% of the cost for less than 100% of the performance to put your shit in SLI. Why spend it when it doesn't all go to use? ****ing rip off.
I do, however, want that sound card and the physics processor. And the RAM. And I'd like to see what kind of mobo that thing uses. Must be pretty ****in' 1337.
lol Yeah I can see your point, but I love ATI cards. Also I have had no problems as of yet. Well no hardware problems just the oh so uncommon Windows crap.
My comp cost around 1k when I bought it, plus 200 when my bro upgraded vid card. Currently he's working on getting ram. I don't spend much money on comps, I'm out of games these days. Btw, Tool, I loved your theme, where the hell did you get it? Seems like you somehow made it. Please tell me how.
Well I finally got off my butt and got some pictures. I did some really crappy wire management, but it looks better than before. Pre-modded case, I'll post more pictures once I start modding. Here are some before and after pics of the water cooling.
Sorry about the blurriness, my camera is crappy and doesn't work well with lights.

All temps are taken at extremes (highest and lowest) and with all fans working as silent as possible.
UPDATE
Well here is what you can get for $90 at Microcenter. I bought a Counter-Strike acrylic blue-led fan grill but it doesnt fit so I have to return it

NOTE - These pictures are OLD. I have done much better wire management and have yet to take pics.
BTW: The ambient temp for my water-cooling results should be 75*F, not 75*C. My thermometer doesn't read Celsius (well I haven't looked for a setting to change it yet).
Watercooling on an AMD? Overkill. Those watercooling temps are that much better than my non-water, too. And all those LEDs would piss me off. LEDs are gay. But like the guy above me, sweet computer.
