I think i might have got virus. My computer screen disconnected from my pc somehow and I lost visuals. Then I couldn't turn off my computer so I unplugged it waited a while and tried to fire it up. It kept switching on and off rapidly like it would come on, the screen would click on, and then it would go off *repeat*, ect. I couldn't get it to turn off so I had to cut the power again. I tried it later and got on fine and I played some d2. Then I left for a while and it froze up I turned it off and it did the rapid on and off thing. I gave up on it and cut the power once more. I tried it again later and it would turn on but the light wouldn't stay on and it wasn't functioning. It's wierd haven't had something like this happen before... I guess i'll have to get a boot disk and restore my computer.

disks do nothing it's going to have to be sent to the shop

If your gonna get a boot disk I suggest you get bart it has really helped me out in the past.

I've never heard of a virus affecting monitor visuals...

XP has some weaknesses too like my mom had to reboot and reinstall after that nasty virus 1 year ago

the only thing i lost on my moms comp was my....2 year old hacked char NX_prototype

Hmm... Check all lose connections, or try a different power bar... a faulty connection makes your computer do that... if not just get some gree virus scanner from http://www.download.com

If I leave the power to my computer as of late it will turn it self on and start doing the rapid on and off thing then it will shut off and do it again periodicly whenever it wants. It's cursed or something, i'm being punished for what i was looking at on the internet. >_< dam you sexy twins! dam you!

How old is your computer, It probably needs a new Power supply thingy.

idk it's not too old i got it freshmen year i think so 03'-04' maybe. I know nothing about the internals of a computer. Good thing I can drop it off with the nerd squad. They are going to see my files though...hope they aren't gay

there is a virus that does that but it attacks specific windows files that make the visuals disabled. then theres another that destroys window files that force it to restart over and over. you probably just had to repair the windows files using the cd.

No! but when they look at the files that are on there they might *barf* at the endless amout of nude women having s*x, giving :O, ect. *Hard to restore files when you can't get the computer on, It has to hit the shop for real*
