Funny enough I believe where you come from plays a big role, I am Greek that is right *****es we bought you Maths and the movie 300 lol.
My father speak Greek to me I went to a Greek school but grew up in South Africa, I find its strange I believe you almost feel your culture go through you, music plays a big part in greek culture and dance as well, and I can see greeks that can't speak Greek, sit there and listen to the songs like they actually can feel what they are saying.
Maybe weird but hey.
nothing unusual at all, there are many persian songs on my playlist. And i can barely understand it
Western culture with a greekyness flavour???????????? are you crazy Greeks are still one of oldest type cultured people you will find around, sure some western things have creeped into some of the youngsters but even them are pretty much old school.
The Romans are pretty much Greeks seeing as the Roman Cathloic Church and Greek Orthodox Church were one and the same thing, this history goes a little way back before Rome.
And a couple of nice things? Don't worry we only gave you math no biggy.

Anyways last time I checked we are all humans. Just because one culture did something or came up with something doesn't mean another would do something different if it were in the same circumstance.

greek culture was widespread, the whole eastern roman empire adopted greek culture. they sholda made the capital at athens i doubt it made a huge diffrence.

Well I did some reseach, and have to say you really need to read the text in which these verses are written.
In that time, God was telling them not to trust the christians and the jews that hated and discriminated against the muslims. Some of the the jews and christians would "befriend" some of the muslims in order to betray them. Further more if you read 5:5 it says that Muslims are only allowed to marry muslims as well people of the book (Christians and Jews). How is a muslim going to marry a christian if he is not allowed to befriend them.
