how can you win a debate? debates are not winnable, everyone has their own opinions, so therefore not winnable

well math ure just thinking in the micro, yes i do agree there are tons of E class planets, none of them which have confirmed water. Only the thought that liquid water could exist. But remember theres a high probability of billions of planets (some being E class) in our galaxy. And there are billions of galaxies in the universe. So our technology is just not good enough yet. And it would be impossible to find out about other life forms on distant galaxies without travelling near the speed of light.

ssppppphhhh. I don't understand why people say christians force there ideas on people. in my opinion it's not force but happy to share valued knowledge to people that don't believe. it's like sharing some secret to someone you cafe about. Yes it is sharing as long as the person is not cornered. Then it moves to forcing. They stay out of politeness and not interest.

jehobas witness and other sects gave christianity somewhat of a bad name, They can't take no for an answer. I remember one time, and this is a true story. The bell had rung and everyone was leaving school, there were these people outisde , around the parking lot, around the crosswalk, Most of them couldn't speak english, they had a tag on them that said free bible, and they nwould follow you around.

I have had them come to my home repeatedly and leave pamphlets.I try so hard to not be rude, but in some cases.it is the only thing that makes them leave!
Standing and telling me what they believe is NOT going to convert me.
I am a strong woman with a sharp mind and a lot of faith. So good luck with THAT...(damn gotta pack and leave)

In a debate you're not trying to convince the person you're debating. You're trying to convince the audience. Is it possible to convert your opponent? Yes, but is it likely? No. You will almost never get your opponent to admit you're right, so how do you win a debate? Simple, you just prove that your opponent is wrong. If he's wrong then you must be right, thus you win the crowd.

LMAO...true true...Spoonie is correct..a debate is before an audeince. An ARGUEMENT can happen anywhere.Truly winning a debate is winning the crowd. Having at least well formed sentences and logical thoughts will take you far.
BUT...knowing how to WORK a crowd and play on fears and emotions can be equally effective......just a thought.

islamic people has been planning 911, islamic people carried them out, islamic people volenteered for that job.

now i knwo its just at elast 19 extremeist but they are muslim. you cannot deny that fact. therefore islam has a bad repuation for having too many extremists around.

Islam, correct me if I'm mistaken(but I think I already said this), is the most popular religion ON EARTH. If they have a few extremists than it probably isn't a large portion of the total Islamic population of the world, Math. While one extremist is too many and I will agree that they have too many since we know there are a lot more than one, you cannot, without a high degree of ignorance, pin 9/11 and other terrorist attacks carried out by Islamic terror organizations, on Islam or the Muslims that practice it as a whole. It makes you look stupid for posting highly inaccurate and unfounded statements as part of your argument. And yes, to a degree, this is a debate. You wouldn't be arguing if you weren't trying to persuade someone to see your line of flawed reasoning, just like I wouldn't be typing this if I wasn't hoping to show you the light, however slim a view of it you might be able to take in.

Please don't ignore people's posts when they tell you to have a look see at some facts before posting the ones you make up.

Edit: Also might help you if you read over your posts to check for blatant spelling, typing, and grammatical errors. Wouldn't hurt at all.

islam has barely more than a billion followers. christanity has 2 billion followers. its obvious that islam is *not* the most popular religion.

the facts are everywhere.

like...?

I think christianity is only prevalent in the british dominated countries and europe. Islam is from Africa to Asia. I think they equal in popularity per say, but not by the number of followers.

Ahh, I have been educated. You are correct, sir.

However, I still hold that you're too fast to judge and should moderate your opinions of entire peoples to exclude those who lack fault.
