It's quite true, it's a one way condescending attitude. That's faith.
Faith is inherently, condescending. The act or thinking that one is superior to another.
Take a fanatic for example - "You are not my inferior, you are just where I was. I was confused, and then I found god."
... con-de-scen-ding. People without a faith are the only ones who can say "I could be wrong."
There isn't any option around it, and if there were, one would be accepting that there is a chance their religion is wrong, and that goes against faith. Catch 22.

Oddly enough you're coming on strong with a "holier than thou" attitude as well. Rather than simply explaining your reasons for believing as you do you're making an effort to prove everyone else wrong. In some cases you even seem to belittle people for not agreeing or challenging you.
I'm not exactly saying this kind of behavior is wrong, as we all know I probably act like this more than anyone, just pointing out the slight hypocrisy here.

he's pretty much the leader of his own country, i'd say hes more than a finger head over there.

I think we all have gotten a bit off topic. Sorry to all. Maybe a topic to explain why there all the branches of christianity that there are today.

IMO there are so many different denominations of the same religion for severl reasons.Oddly,Matha(yes I am giving him credit) had the most prevelant one correct.
Interpretation of certain passages of the Bible have caused disputes and rifts in churches that end in *sprirual divorce* .Thus causing people to part ways with the main body and form a different church.
The other main reason boils down to plain ole human nature.People are more satisfied in life,following a teaching that fits more closely to their lifestyle.
True,some will find a faith that radically changes their life for good,but most are content to be casual in how they view God or the church.
Request close of the thread.As stated I think it has been answerd fully and now is just spam.
If you guys wish to persue some aspects of the MULTITUDE of subjects brought up here....get off your lazy asses and start more threads!

Probably a good idea just to start another one, with a more pointed topic. I have a wealth of things to say about organized religion, as well as the idea of a "God" in general, but I haven't really found a good time to bring much of it up and still be on topic.
