Default Human Communication - 08-06-2007, 03:47 AM

I feel that the ability of human communication is severly disgraced when people tend to swear to a degree of every few words; or uses short-cuts in speech, like using numbers or slicing words in half as to display their personal opinion. What i am agrivated about the most is when he/she decides to talk or write in this fashion its unreadable by a member of a different region or country that is familiar with the language, like a person who has english as a second language, for instance. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but its they way i feel. I think the occcasional swear-word or short cut like "wazzup" is okay, but when it becomes unreadable its ubsurd.

May you think about this, if you don't understand what a person is saying, you're either not being spoken to (or wrote to) or you don't have that much of a dictionary. People use these words with people they're familiar with or that is commonly known, the fact that one person doesn't understand it means we should stop?

That seems to happen a lot here.I can name 2 dozen of these guys that use curse words as a language all on it's own to apppear to be older or more *cool* than other people.

Make no mistake now,I swear as well, just not in every single post to act *tough*...I don't NEED too.

In many cases that I am guessng you are talking about,in all actuallity just a weak mind trying desperately trying to forcefully express itself. Spit has always maintained that in the forums he allows swearing in.that it makes your point look more foolish.

not that its a good idea to be allowed to be informal with a friend, but what i was getting at as if someone was presenting an idea (as an example) to a group, i just think it would be better if he was able to speak without causing more questions than answers about what he actually said than what the topics about. Thats what i was driving at, i should have been more clearer. my bad. lol

Point taken and it's a good point. People should act more civilized when talking to a crowd.

me? well, never, i guess. I just like to read, and reading so much has just caused me to remember how to spell words, i have a photographic memory, but i can't remember entire paragraphs or pictures, just how words are spelled. by the way, my other username Ruin_Tumult accidentally got banned (ha-ha-ha... my fault on that one) and so this is my new user, Ruin-Tumult. Not much change, i guess

While this is very true , consider the medium of communication that you are contemplating. You have written, and oral, and both of those can be broken down into many forms.
Some excell in one and struggle with the other. Many good writers are known to be horrible public speakers.

I think your point is correct,in that whichever medium you choose,be clear , conscice ,and to the point.Questions can be avoided with definitive statements, but if questions arise, they should be answered in a straight forward manner.

Just my 2 cents.

Swearing in every sentence with many spelling errors does make you seem very uneducated. But in life I do swear like its nothing, but not in every sentence or conversation I make.

True that, even in an argument if you lose your temper and regress to just a stream of swearing, the only "point" you will make is most likely someone(point/laugh) at you.
Of course .circumstances vary greatly.I have been known to cuss out a chair leg assaulting my toe in the dark,as I make my way to the bathroom.

Can somebody think of something short and good to say when somebody gets mad and start cussing? Like "Dude it was my turn wtf asshole, dumass" How do you insult him and laugh at his temper with dignity, and make him feel like he was overeating?
