Is religion pointless? I think it is. Especially Christianity.

even in the star trek world the federation killed religion since 2063!

i dont like the choices very much. religion has its goods and bads. it's good because it gives people comfort from the mystery of death and a path in which to live life. however, it's bad points are that people start believing that one religion is better than another and wars are fought over it.
i believe that all religion is completely fake though. whether or not god exists, a religion was created for the sole reasons of control and comfort. god can exist but the fact remains that religions were created based on superstitions and coincidences. he could have created the universe as we know it but here we are praising him for getting us the right lotto numbers or an award when it's possible that he/she/it had nothing to do with it
in my opinion, it is possible for there to be a god. however, religions dont have the answer because they are not based on the existence of a god. they are based on the belief in the existence of god. from this, they derive a structure of moral codes, literature, and religious hierarchy. to me, god does not exist because the only reason that this issue even comes up is because all the chance mutations in evolution and and the chance creation of a planet in a solar system that could support life. suppose that a minute change in the earth's elemental composition made life impossible. then we would not be here at all and there would not be an issue over the existence of god. the issue only comes up because all events up to now have created thinking minds that are able to comprehend such an idea
anyway, in conclusion, religion isnt bad. abuse in the name of religion is bad. i mean, there's a difference in being told to respect my parents and being told to go out and slaughter all jews. yarr' mean?

well if u read the bible christinity was not made by ppl for comfort... it says god laid down rules that u must follow if u wish to get into heaven we still retain freedom and free will but there are certain rules and know from right and wrong. i understand however religion is too blown up and there are many wrongs in it....in fact many of gods rules have been broken over righteous zeal.

but ifyou believe in god and jesus i suggest forgoing religion untill after u have read the bible.

in fact if you have read the bible and understand it u can see its says catholism is not a religion of god but a seat of power for satan. now , of course, i suspect hardly any1 to believe me but just read the bible for urself. i canot in full explain it but it is true and i believe it. i should point out however i belong to now religion, but if i did join a religion id probly be a protesant (or w/e).

and for bee that believe that some1 just sat down and wrote the bible and that its fake...understand that, that would be inpossible because the bible was written in the course of uhundreds of years
