I know to max frozen orb and ice bolt, but how much in cold mastery?

I won't have any gg stuff to begin with so should I put some in ES and pump telekinesis or one in both and pump another element for immunes? (and which alt skill would that be?) or is there a good balance of ES,telekinesis and a alternative attacking spell?

Imo. It isn't worth the points into telekinesis when you don't have enough gear to boost your damage. Especially as an Orb Sorc. Plus Blizzard Sorc is way better if you have virtually no gear. You need pretty good gear for a good Orber.

Well I was thinking of making a blizz sorc but I don't know anyone on east ladder, so don't think I can get a rush, so I think I'd need another skill to kill cold immunes. Plus, with two elements I can do pit runs and stuff w/o worrying too much on immunes.

Orb is not worth it dude. Trust me. My blizz sorc kicks azz at MF. Just dump 1 point in all fire talents and there you go. Your plus to skills will give you enough damage to help your merc take care of those pesky cold immunes. I have almost maxed all cold synergies and cold mastery and my orb still doesnt do **** for dmg compared to blizz.

Nobody to rush? I play West. Will get you a 3 minute rush per difficulty with my Hdin.

I have to agree with Kaze here lol I had an orber and stuff and boy was she a ***** to get gg gear for you need stuff like fathom i did like 1.3k orb and I could have went much higher but never could get a 20/20 cold shield or 4 more cold gc's. I'm gonna say go with blizz even if you are mf or w/e you will have pretty nasty dmg like right now i only do 6-7k with mf stuff and i'm still leveling and by the time i get her "alright gear" i should be doing nearly 10k but yeah my orb is only 300 so go with blizz.

yeah i have ice bolt maxed and orb maxed it does 450-500 roughly but i'm a lvl 65 in sigs =D lol... i know its sad but yeah. i'm thinkin about re rollin a blizz sorc with fire spec. but if neone has idea's i was gonna use tals set with soj's and prolly traves and frostburns that sound decent for a blizz/fire sorc?

Actually,an mf orb sorc is pretty easy
Skill placement as follows:
20 points ice bolt
20 points orb
20 points cold mastery
20 points telekinesis
1 point in all lightning or fire skills
and the rest of the skill points into energy shield
As far as stats go
str:enuff to wear chosen gear
dex:enuff to wear wizspike if needed(should be none really if u have torch and anni)
vitality:enuff to hit either 1000 life before bo or if you have a cta,enuff to hit 2k life after bo
energy:the rest,after all we use energy shield,right?
As far as equipment goes:
helmPtopaz shako
armorPtopaz skulders or ringmail enigma
shield:I find a spirit monarch helps survivability,but you could use an isted viscurtuant,or whatever else you might have
weapon:either an isted occy(ewh the tele when struck bites),or a dual isted alibaba(if your poor mf jewls are cheap enuff to use instead of ists)
rings:i find that a combo of 1 pnagel with a soj really works(if your rich a pwisp and soj works better)
amulet:tals ammy(or maras if your rich)
belt:tals belt w/as much mf as possible
glovesPerf chance guards(have an extra pair of tri-resist gloves for pesky monsters,lol)
Boots:wartravs of course
And in your inventory:
1 sorc torch
1 anni
1 good gheeds charm
enuff str/resist charms to put you at a safe range in hell
and of course a few good skill gc(cold gc's w/str are beautiful for an mf build)
With this build you can hit about 400% mf at lvl 88,and with a good merc that can do some elemental damage,you can mf the pit,andariel,mephisto,shenk,eldritch,thresh socket,pindle,and baal.Btw these are all in hell,not nm.
The damage i hit w/my orb on my ladder mf sorc with this build is 880-920 with occy and 720-810 with alibaba.This is enough damage to kill hell mephisto in 2-3 orbs,and most non unique hell monsters in just one orb(unless cold immune lol)
