I highly doubt a melee sorc can do much, if anything in hell with any staff. I'm guessing attack speed will be pretty slow which will hurt you greatly. I highly suggest getting 'passion' because the zeal will give you that really need ias

Ok get ready for this...

all i know about a zeal sorc is basicly the stat/skill allocation
after relooking that guide,very wrong.
i would suggest,not from experience as a zeal sorc but as an overall long time d2 player to go with the following gear.

-CHEAP GEAR-

Helm-Vampire Gaze
Armour-Duress (for the fhr,ow,cb, and res)
Ammy-400 ar+ 25res+ Metalgrid(your gonna need the res bad)
Belt-8%LL 15%DR String of Ears
Boots-Gores
Ring1-Raven Frost +20 dex & 200+ ar
Ring2-Manald Heal 7% ml(might need this, gonna have shortage of mana w/o)
Gloves-Magefist


i would write a bit on more expensive items but you get the idea of whats needed
basicly, good res, good def armour(id go CoH if more money available) some gcs with res or life+s.

get some life leech going and the sorc will do fine,

as for the skills

20warmth
20enchant
20fire mastery
20 energy shield
1 teleport
remaining points to what you wish, id recomend your choice of cold shield,might help.

I've never had a Zeal sorc, but this is what I would do:
Stats:
STR: enough for gear
DEX: enough for max block with Storm (if using Storm)
VIT: rest
ENE: none

Skills (I'm really not sure about this):
20 Enchant
20 Warmth
1 Teleport (If not using Enigma)
20 Fire Mastery
20 Light Mastery
20 Thunderstorm maybe?
+xx in Cold Mastery mayhap? (probably not a good idea unless you rely heavily on cold damage)

Gear:
Helm: Shako
Amulet: Mara/Angelic
Weapon: Passion BA
Armor: Forti/Enigma (Enigma would be nice for +STR and save 2 skillpoints, while Forti would be nice for ed% and fcr%).
Shield: Storm Eld.
Belt: Arach (nice for fcr% for tele and slows target). Honestly, I just cannot think of anything. Maybe nice rare belt with +stats, or crafter ow belt with FHR% +stats, etc. Maybe Nosferatu if IAS% is low.
Gloves: rares 20%IAS +20 STR +15 DEX +3x triple resi
Boots: Goreriders
Rings: Angelic if using Angelic amu, or Raven/Dwarf/BK.

I'm not sure how Enchant multipliers are added, but I think that you shouldn't need any more AR. 300k+ can be achieved with correct choices of gear, but you won't need that much.

Keep in mind that I've never made a Zeal sorc before, so this is open to criticism.

Str:enough for pheonix monarch
Dex:Enough for max block
Vit:res should go here, gonna need it.
Energy:Pfft dont waste your stats

Helm-Coa 2os "Ber,Ber"
Armour-Perfect 30 res AP Fort
Weapon-Passion
Shield- Nice ED Phoenix Monarch(this really helps)
Belt-Perf Dungos
Gloves-Either Perf Soul drainer if you want some mana leech to re-charge while you telly about or Dracs if you dont plan on telly-smacking someone
Boots-Gores
Ammy-25-30 Maras(res is your best friend here)
Charms and such-get some fire gcs with max damage and or life mods.
-also a torch above 17/17
-Also Anny

thats the basic gear set up, if you wanna go pro get a 6bo CtA and Spirit Mon on your weapon switch and have an A1 Cold Arrow Merc with the following gear

Helm-Nightwings Veil
Armour-Eth Fort
Wep-Ice Bow


-DUEL STRATEGY- i dont know many for zeal sorcys but heres a few.


LF Zons- keep tellying away going in a circular pattern getting closer every time, when your close enough and she throws at you, get in there and let her have it.

Bow Zons-not much to say here other then telly away and attempt to get in there, if you track her down, get close to her, you should have an easy kill.

WW Barbs- rather simple actually, let him be the aggreser telly to the opposite side of his ww and zeal very quickly. if you fail to zeal fast enough well...i dont even need to say it.

Hdins-your by far toughest opponent if they know what there doing.the best advice i can give is DO NOT be hastey with your attack wait it out a bit if you have too. wait for him to stop his telly spam and boom telly right on him and zeal asap.

Smiters-dont even try it, you need to get close to kill and they kill everything that comes close.my advice is, dont waste your time on these guys

Zealers(pally)- Simple! telly back and forth around him then telly in just enough to get your zeal, not right on top of him but within striking distance.

Trapsins-hopeless 99 out of 100 times you will not win, or will many other classes, not that zeal sorcys suck, just that trap sins are the cheapest and most hated pvpr's

WW sins- best advice here is if you see her d flight you telly behind where you were standing wait for her to ww then telly back to where you were and zeal her.

blizz sorcys-lay down and take it like a man.

Max block with Pheonix takes 300+ DEX so gl with that.

Have you ever even had a Zeal sorc with that gear? Your strategies are a joke, i.e. I can tell you that a BvC will tear you apart, no matter what.

You don't tele on Hammerdins, that's like the worst mistake ever, etc.

frater can u tell me how you can hit 300k+ ar or did u mean 30k which is still very unlikely? Enchant multiplyers do not add to ar as far as I know. Fcr is not needed. This is very effective in pvm not as much in pvp.
