i'm not 100% sure, but i believe that cold attacks are a little more effective on meph than fire attacks. i would prob go with an ice sorc then if you are going to just be mfing meph,prob using orb or blizz as your main attack. i think, however, you want to check in with people who are better with mf sorcs than me. theres my 2 centz.

I have a lvl 82 Frozen Orb Ice sorc. She can clear meph in under 2 minutes (including hunting for the stairs to 3) So I feel frozen orb is great. Also, use your teleport to get the a5 hell barb quest and then hire one. If you put Shaft on him he is a great tank and varey rarely dies.

With MH you can do Mephi runs in 48 seconds (my personal record) and don't bother with a Merc, you don't need him. Just kill Mephisto from over the bridge and you'll take no damage. Also remember to kill the council members, as they drop better than Mephi usually.

This is what I use:

Helm: Shako (Perfect Topaz)
Armour: Tals Armour (Perfect Topaz)
Weapon: Oculus (Ist Rune)
Shield: 4xIst Monarch
Belt: Tals Belt
Gloves: Chance Guards
Boots: Silkweaves (Use War Travellers if you have them)
Rings: Two decent Nagelrings
Amulet: Tals Amu

With a Gheeds, and a couple of 7%MF charms, you'll easilly get 500% MF (with the partial Tals bonus) and you're still pretty optimised for killing speed.

Come on, peoples. Stop making the same damn character builds. Think outside the box and try something new. Currently, I'm working on an Enchantress that will have the following gear:

Guillaume's Face or Giant Skull
Upgraded Rattlecage
Upgraded Ribcracker (Main Attack)
Fleshrender and Whitstan's Guard or SS (Weapon Switch)
Steelrends
Gore Riders

Which is fine, but she won't make it outside normal on her own. I doubt she'll even beat Duriel without help. Novelty builds are fine and that, but it's nice to have a good character who can get you through to hell without being owned by everything they come up against.

It's alright if you have two Ist runes to spare. Otherwise just use an Oculus. Only problem is the crazy random teleport thing. But it saves you just as often as it kills you lol.

ya doesnt it just suck when occy teleports u into a huge group of guys specially if u have energy shield cuz then u lose all ur mana rel fast and cant teleport out

wow thats really slow, my fb sorc does meph runs in 25-36 seconds (90% fcr)
blizz is 22-35 seconds (50% fcr)
