I was just wondering how to use my fire sorc's abilities to best effect any comments welcome. Thanks.

I have a pure fire sorc for meph runs and this is what i do. I tele down to durance 3 tele to the left (not all the way just till the wall in the bottom part of map) then tele up to the edge closest to middle of map. If anything is attacking me i kill it then tele and lure meph to the edge there. I then tele to where i can just barley see him and i procedd to drop meteors on him till about the p in his name. THen i switch to fireballs. i know my directions for where to tele dont seem clear but if you need me too i will show you in a game ( useast nonladder) my acct is dalbah. Btw the good thing about this is if you do it right meph cant attack you and you can kill him. hope this helps

Thanks Avenger. I'll try that. Another question is if you need a tank. My fire sorc seems to die too much without one and its expensive.

I don't think so. If you know the proper tactics, you can kill any mobile without the use of a tank. It just requires you to move around alot to escape their reaches.

me personally i dont use a merc yet. I am too lazy to level one and i really dont need to for just meph runs. he never hits me and i still get decent items. his council members are pretty good to kill too. I found A Perf carrion wind ring of Maffer Dragonhand

btw avenger,i dun quite understand what u mean...get to lv 3...then tele around the middle...dun u have to kill any members?

nope if i do it right i can do it with no council getting n the way. sometimes they do though so i use rising sun on the tele down to get healed by their hydra. If I get around to it i will take a screen shot of where i tele to and stuff.

but meph can move almost anywhere right?can it 'float'?

he can move most places. But he gets stuck where i lure him to so he doesnt attack.

I get what that dude is talking bout luring him then dropping meteors...
but its a little hard to lure him there...

I dont know After you have done it a few times it is realitvley easy. I know this isnt the fastest around but i have done a full meph run killing all the blood lords and the council members in durance 3 in under 2 minutes. I am also on dial up so i imagine it would be faster on cable. I took the screen shots but they didnt turn out right... so i prolly wont post them.

well i havnt done fire sorc yet but col should be close.. ok so what i do is pretty much load my mf items onto me(dont like them when i lvl up in baal runs) and jus go throuhg every boss through the game

wow avenger, that info looks alot like my tactics posted on one of the fire sorc builds around here sumwhere :P, no need to be vague...tele to the platform where the act IV portal is, then tele once toward meph and run to him until u have his attention (he's following you) then run to the left side of that pathway to the act IV portal, then tele across the river... then simply run out of range of his ice orb (the only long ranged attack he has) and meteor, fb fb fb fb , meteor, fb fb fb fb till he dead.... just remember to fireball him during meteor's casting delay.. hope it helps :)

I find fireball works a lot better than meteor..

meteor/fb fb fb fb/ then meteor again, that way your killing constantly, and meteor does a lot more dmg than fb.... that's why it's better, ur never not doing dmg to him, and he's taking ur fb's as well as sitting in ur meteor's fire dmg... believe me it makes my 35-45 sec hell meph runs possible..

depends on how much dmg fb has...whats ur fb and meteor dmg?

3000 per fball and near 10000 per meteor. The tactics everybody metioned seem to work well. I'm doing about 20 runs a day in my free time, but I'm noticing Hell Meph drops worse than nm Meph

get a higher dmg fireball and u get better drops
i got 10k fb and he drops in 10-12 seconds

I hadn't read your tactics when i had posted this. Wasnt trying to steal credit or anything. heh your directions are clearer but not quite what i meant. I meant as soon as you enter durance 3, tele down to the far wall from enterance. then tele straight up. I am talking about the part of the map that is sandwiched between the act4 portal island and the room that one of the council members is in on the left. you occasionally still get bugged by blood lords, and you also occasionally are forced to fight the council members ( O well rising sun has them heal you anyway) but this is one of the quicker ways to do this run(I think at least) O an once i have him lured to the edge i move out of range and meteor him to the P in his name them Fb him to death. I have somewhere over 100% FcR so the delay isnt that unbearable, not to mention i am on dial up so when i lag i still am damaging him. My current skills that i have maxed out are Fire mastery, meteor, fireball, and almost firebolt(3 away) i have like 4 into warmth i think. I started this sorc before 1.10 so.... i am happy how she turned out. 9k Fb and 17-18k meteor. I dont have any Fire Gcs yet to help either
