Atticus' PvP/MF Lightning Sorceress Guide


Notes
This is the best build for a lightning sorceress. This guide is built off experience, other's experiences, and extensive knowledge of the game Diablo II. If you truly believe there is a better build for a lightning sorceress please post your suggestions, but know that I have tested many, many builds, and I currently am using this exact build.



Stat Points
Strength: Base
Dexterity: Base*
Vitality: All
Energy: Base**


*You may elect to put enough points into dexterity for max block, however, seeing as lightning sorceress are ranged attackers I do not see a need for this.


**This guide is not intended for an Energy Shield sorceress, so please do not question that section.



Skill Points
20 - Charged Bolt
20 - Lightning
20 - Chain Lightning
20 - Lightning Mastery
20 - Nova


1 - Telekinesis
1 - Teleport
1 - Static Field


8 - Thunderstorm*


*This is assuming you level your sorceress all the way to level 99. Thunderstorm is very powerful even when so few points are put into it. IT HELPS, trust me. My sorceress is level 96 and has 5 points in Thunderstorm and it proves VERY useful when dueling.



Gear


Note: This gear is fairly expensive so be prepared to put in a good amount of effort in getting it. I will not provide alternates seeing as I have no alternates and have not tested any. This section covers MF gear as well as PvP gear.


Armor
- PvP: Perfect Dusk Shroud Chains of Honor
- MF: Perfect Ethereal Skullder's Ire Russet Armor socketed with an Ist rune.


Helm
- PvP: Harlequin Crest Shako socketed with an Um rune. (Adds +15 To Resistances)
- MF: Harlequin Crest Shako socketed with an Ist rune.


Weapon 1
- PvP & MF: +3 To Skills, +20% To Lightning Damage Eschuta's Orb socketed with a perfect 5/5 Light Facet.


Shield 1
- PvP & MF: Spirit Shield (Any Shield With Low Strength Requirement)


Weapon 2
- PvP: Perfect Call To Arms Flail (Yes, I have and use this)
- MF: Normal Sword socketed with 6 Ist runes.


Shield 2
- PvP: Spirit Shield (Any Shield With Low Strength Requirement)
- MF: Normal Shield socketed with 4 Ist runes.


Belt
- PvP: Arachnid's Spiderweb Mesh.
- MF: Goldwrap Heavy Belt.


Amulet
- PvP: Perfect Mara's or any amulet that adds +3 to Sorceress Lightning Skills
- MF: Any amulet that adds 50% to Magic Find.


Rings
- PvP: Two Stones of Jordan
- MF: Two Perfect Nagel Rings or Two rings that add 40% to magic find.


Gloves
- PvP: Magefist Gauntlets
- MF: Chance Guards


Boots
- PvP: Sandstorm Trek
- MF: War Traveller's




Mercenary
You will want to use an Act 2 mercenary and equip him with this gear as soon as you reach Act 2 of Hell and can purchase one.



Mercenary Gear
- Helm: Andariel's Visage
- Armor: Fortitude Ethereal Archon Plate
- Weapon: Infinity Ethereal Cryptic Axe

in my opinion you left out couple things for MF that are made for a godly MF light sorc they are:

2x 40 mf rings
50% mf amy not 30-40
instead of shako and if u dont believe me you can go to battlent and check it out for yourself is a 3os socketed with 3 ist runes 50%mf tiara
and for armor it would be alot better to have a Etheral Skullders socketed with ist rune than a non eth perfect skullders

Okay, appropriate changes will be made to the guide.
I feel that, regarding your choice of helm, it is not worth sacrificing two skill points, added health bonus, and added mana bonus for the sake of a little more magic find. Remember, magic find is only useful if you can actually kill the bosses.

I agree with everything else however.

In lieu of your amulet comment, my mistake, I thought they only went up to 40%. Good call though on the MF section of the guide seeing as that is where I have less experience.

yo, do you need to spend extra stats points for the mf helm that has the highest mf available?

good guide except its pretty much the same as every other lite sorc guide and therefore kind of pointless

Can you list the Lightning Damage that you have with each skill when you are using Pvp equipment and then with your Mf equipment? Also, how much Mf% do you have when wearing your Mf gear?
