Hi Everyone, I am really bored So I will make a guide on a reallly good light sorc.
Light Sorc: Uses Static Shock/Lightning as main method of killing.
STATS: Strength:Base
Dexterity: Base
Vitality: Rest
Energy: Base
I know leaving energy at base seems sketchy.. it is at the lower levels as soon as you hit 75 (torch +anni) your warmth level will be atleast 16, and your mana regeneration will be so fast your mana will never go down when you teleport or use lightning.
Skills:
Lightning Skills:
Charged Bolt, Static Shock, Telekensis, Nova, Lightning, Chain Lightning, Lightning Mastery. Not Energy Shield
Most Useful: (most to least)
Lightning
Static Shock
Chain Lightning
Nova
Charged Bolt
Telekenisis
Nova is more useful then charged bolt.... If you put all the skill points into what I tell you, you will have all of the skills maxed at Level 96 with all the skill quests.
Level 96: 20 Lightning
20 Mastery
20 Chain Lightning
20 NOVA 20 Charged Bolt
I dont really know if the pain of getting from 95-96 is worth the trouble.... My light Sorceress just reached Level 95... and has all maxed except charged bolt.. which is level 19, if you max charged, you will do about 1500 more damage or so... lol
getting to 95 is not that hard, it will take 1 week if you plan it right, do around 2 hours of baaling on weekdays, around 42 runs of so. on the weekend do like 50-60 runs. 3 horus or so
that will do it, from 94-95. my necro is 96, it takes just about two weeks of 94-95 method. lol its a waste dont do it
If you dont put one into Frozen Armor, it will be complete at 95...
Fire Skills:
1 into Warmth
Cold Skills:
1 in to Frozen Armor (your defense will go up by around 1000 or so)
Gear: (GFG Gear that is)
Hat: Griffons Eye w/ Um, With a perfect light facet, which is 5/5 you will do around 1000 more damage.... Id rather have 15 more Resists
Armor: COH: Dusk Shroud/most prefably(low str req) .. archons are ugly/high str on sorcs
Amulet: Best: Any maras BUT, Will Work: 3 + Lightning Amulet
Weapon: +3/+15%+ Eschutas temper w/ 5/5 facet (die or level, you wont be dying much anyways)
Shield: Spirit Shield 30 +% Fcr
Gloves: Magefist (Uped)
Boots: Waterwalk/Wartrav/Sand Storm treks
Belt: Arachnid Mesh
Rings: you need +str rings, i havea BK ring, and a 10%fcr 19 to str 11 resist all ring.. found it botting
Switch: CTA (use ur main shield) as shield
Thats all the gear.
In your inventory:
Sorc torch (any stat/skills)
Anni (pref high attributes)
this is all you REALLY need... but if you want to spend more get a couuple of +18/19/20 lifers SC, and 1 to Light GCs, they help
MERCENARY:
Act2 Night mare defensive: (holy freeze)
Hat: any hat with Life steal is good..such as crown of thieives, tal rasha helm, gaze, andys.. they dont matter at all, you will be doing the most killing
Armor : Ethereal Fortitude, try making it out of a 900 + def 4 os str max 190 armor.. you will make around2.6k Fort
Infinity : CRYPTIC AXE!! DOnt make it out of CV, your merc wont be able to use it for awhiel cuz of such high str reqs..
There! With this setup, you will have +75 resist all in hell, and with no GCs, you will do around 28k lightning at level 90 with my skills
I, at level 95 do 30k lightning w/o GCs, If I put my GG gear on, (9 gcs) I do 51k Lightning!! GG. Baal dies in 1 static +1 lightning in (hell 1 player)
i apologize if i double post here, but i got "server too busy" after my last post and its not appearing at the moment...anyways:
good job writing this guide, but i personally do not like it. i disagree with too many things:
1. why dont you use eshield? its very useful for keeping yourself alive(especially if you have an insight merc)
2. whats the point of the static field? it seems to me that if you are really doing all that damage you would take more life off monsters by just using lightning instead of bothering to static
3. "Switch: CTA (use ur main shield) as shield" huh? are you saying to remove your weapon for cta every time you BO? why not just get 2 spirits, 1 for each switch?
i don't like it you don't explain strats for dueling...(but you do have nice damage )and you need to organize the guide a bit better make a table of contents.And use more then one color.If i were to rate it id give it 4/10
Also explain why you use the items and skills..And why you use the gear..

I personsally dislike energy shield, you could put that skill point into lightning or one of its syngergies, and also with energy shield you need to put lots into energy... and it eats ur mana, and if u have lots and lots of mana, you kill your self on baal because of that curse

i've been looking at the kira's diadem and shit but it doesn't have any sockets... even after you did put a socket in it... there would only be room for 1.... ???wtf??? i'm probably missing something here but you said to put in a PERF LIGHT FACET and A UM ?????? huh? please tell me what the **** i'm thinkin cuz that's not workin out lol

well, you probably mixed up the helm or typed it wrong, it's Griffon's Eye Diadem, but no matter what it has one socket aswell. What I believe he meant, and most likely what he meant was socket the Griffon's with either an um or a p light die/lvl facet.
Please note this thread is from 2006...I am not going to close this because it's not off-topic, but it is possible the build could be outdated...enjoy.
maybe im missing something i cant figure out how you equip spirit without adding to your strength spirit is 156 even with all your gear im only coming up with 100 or so
