all lightning build? How bout this

15 charged bolt
15 lightning
20 chain lightning
20 thunderstorm
20 lightning mastery
1 tele
1 static
1 shiver armor

Make a blizz sorc, they're fun and they rock

OK here is what I have come up with for best PvP light sorc... No critisizm plz...

Skills
20 Lightning
20 Light Mastery
20 Nova
20 Chain Light
1 Tele
1 Mana Shield
1 Warmth
Nova= The rest until maxed (lvl 94 is when it is possable to complete this skill set up)

Gear
Maras Amulet
Grifons Eye Helm With Light Facet
SS With Hel or -15 req Jewel with good res/+str/+dex
Good Eschutas with Light Facet
Spider Sash
2x Sojs
Good +str +dex Boots, pref with res
Frost Burn Gauntlets(will explain in a sec)
Chains of honor armor( with low str pref.)
Second Wep- Cta+Lidless
10x light gcs (pref with +life)
9x 20 Life scs (+5 all res if you can afford)
1x Anhi

Stats
Str- Just enough for items, +str items help alot
Des- Just Enough for max block, +dex items help alot
Vita- NONE!
Energy- REST! This is the thing- you get much more mana per stat in energy than life in vita, so using mana shield and all the items with this set up you will have around 5K mana and dmg will go there so it will take the place of your life!!! Life from items and cta will be all you need.

Merc
Act 2 Nm Defensive (holy freeze will make any one an e z target)
Bone Hew for wpn (pref. eth)
Eth Coh or Stone for Armor
Coa with what ever siuts you in sockets

Your lightning dmg skill will be around 40k... THIS IS NOT A WEAK BUILD! I have checked most of this stuf so plz don't tell me I am rong unless you KNOW for sure i am.

As for In hell, there is about an even bit of light, fire, and cold res monsters, because the monsters in each place is RANDOM in dif games! A good merc will help with this or you can just make new game and hope the same monsters arnt there.

Well there you have it (I'm currently in the process of making this sorc on USWest Ladder)

that looks like a nice guide. what spell do u use the most, and what is the bottom damage of that range of that attack? (ex: in 2345-3456 dmg 2345 would be the bottom damage of that range of that attack)

I like your idea DJ. In my light sorc I followed the same guidelines till it came to Nova. I put a couple of pts into Nova, 1 into Static, then did the rest into Telekenesis. This skill helps out a tremendous amount but is always overlooked.

min dmg is around 32 :-P but thats still an avg of 20K :-P and half the time more.

wouldnt just 1 into telekanesis work well for the knock back?

that is probably the reason that some ppl think lightning sorc's suck because the range of their damage is the biggest. they(i think) can do the most dmg, but they also have a very low bottom dmg. is there anything one can do to make it so they do closer to the higher dmg? this would apply to all chars.

No. but if you look at the avg dmg, the light sorcs is the highest of all chars... well a good 1 at least. As for the chance of low dmg there is just as much chance of HUGE dmg. If you way the pros and cons I think the pros take it and this is a great build. Not to mention 5k mana and max dmg reduce lets you tank as much as a barb... and I havn't seen a barb that can tank more than 4 lightnings. Not to mention... mana pots can be used in duels...
