Guys I am fascinated by extreme phenomena....it does not matter if it is a hurricane,
tornado,tsunami,avalanche,volcano,earthquake.....i t all affects the weather and our planet.
Can yall look up interesting articles or videos for me on past or recent occurences?
I love reading about it or studying the videos.

earthquakes do not affect weather i think.

Actually they do if it was caused by a volcano.A major earthquake in tandem with an erruption once lowered the world temperature by a degree.

It caused atmospheric distress worldwide.

Simply put..the debris and ash were caught into the atmosphere and spread over the globe. This affected the sun light as well as the wind currents.

oh yeah, but some earthquakes didn't make volcano's explode. (i know its not explode, i jsut like that word). some examples are the San Fransisco earthquakes. unless i missed the volcano part.

While this is true some do not,it is still an extreme event and does have climactic happenings in the effect of tsunamis.
Any extreme event will affect the weather eventually Math.It is cause and affect...like...dominoes falling in a line.

What I am after is video or articles on extreme events....can you research that for me?

Hey, I'm a member on the TVN website. :) I post for people to go watch th elive streams on active chase days, but I dun think anyone here has. I have some crazy things to show, either way. Extreme weather is a recent hobby of mine.

Here's a derecho. They form when a squall line turns into a bow echo. They're beastly looking.

Here's a supercell thunderstorm in Oklahoma. If you watch, you can see it rotating. the rotation is part of the mesocyclone.

I have always lived around places of extreme weather...from Texas to Florida to Missouri ...been through more tornados and hurricanes than I care to mention.

I am an ameture weather watcher...but just this past week spotted 2 funnle clouds in the sky ,both within a mile of me.
Hurricane season is predicted to be interesting this year

Missouri's supposed to be pretty active, as far as tornadoes and all that go, but over here by St. Louis, we either get missed or the storm weakes right before it gets here. That's not always the case, and there are no geographic anomolies that I can link to it, but it's been happening the past few years. It's been a ting few springs... Most recently, when that tornado hit Kirksville and killed 3 people, we got that storm. It was yellow and red on the radar, indicating high precipitation, and then when it got near us, the warm colors split and we got some nice darkish greens. Later it reformed and spawned a tornado in Illinois. I was bewildered. I don't want to get hit by a tornado, I just want to see some nice, strong stuff. :\

why do people like stuff that kills? if a saw a tornado id run the **** away and hide. NOT take pictures like my mom will do.

Because knowing about dangerous things educates you.It is somehow called *research* The more you know on the subject,my dear,the better prepared you are and more able to teach others.

If you did not know the dynamics of a tsunami,the destructiveness...would you be afraid?
If you never saw footage of an earthquake or volcano,would you know what to expect?

Also, they're cool. You can appreciate the beauty and power of something while still hoping that it doesn't show itself off by killing people.

you know, id ont seen to learn to know that something is dangerous, if i saw a tunsami in calgary, id be confused then run the **** away. (confused as in how it got there)

if i saw a tornado ill hide in a basement.

if there was an earthquake ill hide under a door frame.

if a military is attacking calgary and we hae no hope of winning, i dunno what id do.

Power went out briefly. That was crazy. I've never seen winds like that. Pam probably has, since she's gone through a couple hurricanes..but I haven't. They said 60mph winds on the TV, and I've seen 60mph winds before. These were quite a bit stronger. A few branches fell down, and it was roaring out there.

It was a gust front off of a severe cell in a developing squall line. Nuts, though. I wouldn't be to turn on the TV tomorrow and see some people had trees crash on their houses.

Same here dude.... winds got crazy and other peoples lawn furniture were flying thru the back yard....I saw at least 3 vortecies...

About a month ago there was a tornado that went right by my place. somehow everything is in tact and it did no damage. I think it was a friendly tornado. Maybe if I looked harder I'd find presents. lol
