I can love you,but that doesn't mean I'm "In Love" with you.
Falling in and out of lust IS chemical ,hell I am in lust with Brad Pitt!
Being "In Love" means waking to bad breath, rotten disposition, hair that looks combed by a lawn mower, and still feeling your heart melt, even after 26 years of marriage.
As Phallock stated,Love is a choice.
And i don't deny that, but in the end it's still just chemicals in your brain.
Lust or not.
^^ somebody double posted. oh well. no biggie.
i don't think of love as a chemical. i think of love as finding what you feel like is the missing piece of what you are. Kind of corny, but that's what i think

You just prooved my point.
What does the person you love give you? the person gives you what you want. Setting off receptors in your brain telling you that this person is someone you "love" because they fulfill what your brain tells you you either need or want. It's simply down to the ID.
?
i was thinking spiritually, but that is another way to look at that. I never thought of it that way.
Love is also back massages and back scratches. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......

Love is a chemical reaction in your brain when someone does something you want/need.
It's basically want and need.
People think it's magic and special, but realy it's nothing like that, it may sound cold and harsh but it's essentialy true.
Already said that, copy cat.

No it's not, haha.
Honestly, as stated before it's just chemicals to succumb to our inate carnal instinct, which some might say is the meaning of life: To survive. And in order to do so we must reproduce, which is where these 'love' chemicals come in in order to make sure we DO that (reproduce that is). Anyway I have a girlfriend and I'm willing to die for her, but it's still just chemicals, even though I'd say I am in love with her - it is just still chemicals as if we were to take them away who knows how we'd all feel about our significant others.
Not trying to enforce this onto anyone but this is what I have always been taught
1 Corinthians 13
Love
1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing. 4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
