    well actually i think we can read it because we spend a certain amount of time every week on forums and in games and all that, and people often make typos so we can easily recognise them. but give this to a 40 year old guy whos never touched a computer.. chances are he wont be able to read it very quickly like we can

    I don't think that is the case. I saw that before I started on forums. I could read it there. I think it is more of how the brain analizes the information and then sorts it out as it takes it in. IMO.
