Thread: Everyone, take 5 minutes to read this please

Everyone, take 5 minutes to read this please

I apologize for making a thread that some would consider a 'boring 'I'm back' thread,' but this has to be done for my own purposes.

A friend of mine was bored on AIM yesterday and asked if I wanted anything made(photoshop) so I said a sig much like my old d2s sig. I went to look for my old sig because it got deleted somehow from the forum site change. I couldn't find it...but what I did find were hundreds...maybe thousands of memories. It is safe to say that I almost cried.

I remember celebrating my 12, 13, and 14th birthdays on these forums...and now that it comes time for number 15..it just doesn't feel the same.

Does anyone remember the 1.10 patch? I do. I remember everyone around in .9 and before. I remember everyone being nice(genrally) and considerate. This forum had few members then, but we were such a tight knit family...I am absolutely positive that all of us know some strange detail about the other(for the old timers) after 1.10 patch slowly but surely the considerate people stopped playing. Pretty soon channels were filled with spammers, games were filled with hackers and websites were all scammers.

What happened to this site at that point was crucial. The old members stopped posting. and new members started. we(the old people) tried to keep up with 20 new members a day but eventually our 'tight knit' family became all of us just trying to be heard(that was it in my case anyways) over all of the new people who fit in so well...there were just so many.

there have been numerous generations of d2sector, from the beginning to now(it isn't even d2s anymore) we have all found a friend or two on this website. Probably the two worst things that can happen to a gamer is to lose touch with his gaming friends, and when a MMO shuts down(asherons call 2)

To me, and to many of us, that has happened with diablo. We stopped posting and diablos community went to crap...causing (to us) a 'shutodown' and losing touch*

I now play warcraft and maple story...but it isn't the same. Nothing will/can ever replace the void in my heart where Diablo 2 (no matter how bad I wa) held and that the friends/family I had on this forum is.

I thought alot of posting this yesterday, because it might mean a final post from a crazy veteran(war veteran if you consider the traine crash and skyes D2s era) but to me it had to be done or I wouldnt be able to sleep until I did.

Please, mods, don't close, let this thread do what it needs to do for me. I hope someone can learn something from a 15 year olds ramblings.

Heh, can't really say "her"......anyways that was interesting when she reigned.

I joined here I believe a little before trayne left, and ever since I've witnessed many people come through these forums; some stayed awhile and left, some were here for too short of a time, some stuck around and are still here today. Lately I've seemed to notice a pretty good amount of the older people come back....trayne, Pam, etc. It's good to see members stop by who have been a vivid part of D2sector's/Blizzsector's purpose - a community for gamers and all individuals to share what they have to offer and live with one another (electronically speaking of course) in peace (mostly).

Three cheers to Diablo 2 Sector! Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip Hooray!

Yeah Alfzzz is pretty goofy, me and him were in a free game and you got frees if you answered stuff correctly. The question was what does FoD stand for? He spammed crazy answers like flop on **** etc.

i'm not really sure what point you are trying to make here...progress is bad? sure it has its bad points, but growth is good...maybe this means something to "older people", but it just sounded like rambling reminisence to me. congrats on that 15th birthday...1 more till you can drive.

It's not hard to remember me considering I'm still here.

I feel the same way except I never came on BZS until the major part of my D2 addiction was behind me. The 25 people I gamed with on Ladder 1, 1.10 was the coolest thing ever.

Except I think I did almost nothing socially that summer. I was like, 17 too, lol.

Ya, 1.10 was a lot of fun :)

The game was at it's best at 1.10 but the economy and community was on the top of it's game before the expansion.

I have Mud on AIM...haven't spoken to him in a long time. Burner03 was kind of a douche in my opinion, he was so full of himself and while he had some talent he just came off as annoying for me.

    Who's Burner03?

I think I missed my two year anniversary day. Good thing because I really hate the people here.

ya same here... but when i was 16 and 17... id wake up at 6 am to play diablo for 30 min, go to school, soon as i got home, play diablo till 11 and go to bed... it corrupted my "gettin girls" skills.... but that has changed now....

I got here about when Murderman had left and all the stuff about Allisurd and Trayne was long past.. I still don't know the entire story on all of that, and I'm not sure if I want to.

I remember when the forums were very dynamic, you'd refresh and there would be tons of new posts all over the place, but with more and more people picking up on new games and paying less attention to Diablo 2, we've been dying down. At least in the Small Talk section.

I remember the Paint Wars thread that The-Matt made up and all the retarded little pictures... Good times.

I also know this feeling too (in many situations), I used to really be into Runescape, always used to play. Then I came across a Forum like this one, with Runescape Private servers, runescape help, all the usefully stuff like that. I got along well with everyone was there for atleast a year, then gained modness (was happy), and like you said the whole 2k members that joined was like one big family, untill the forum got a really bad person who changed the whole forum, I forget his name, but he was a ****, and he was out for me because I banned him for scamming some 11 year old. Well Jagex finally sued us forcing to shut down the fourm, so we did. The owner brought it back up, but it wasn't the same, I didn't have mod anymore because of the goof that got me demodded because I banned him, and I Slipped slowly and slowly away from that forum, and I went back to it yesterday, and It wasn't the same, seeing all the old posts I had posted, and all the stuff... I miss that forum, the people on it now are just losers. Like the owners.

Same with this, I used to be a really big chatter, used to use chat rooms and such, when I came across Ares chat and joined in, got amazingly along with others, Got modded once again, then the owner got fed up closed it once, then opened again, got fed up again, closed again, then it was down for like a year, and I just recently found out about it again on monday, but like The runescape forum, it's never the same as the 1st time you were there, no matter what you do, Communities like that, always get courpted. Meh, what can you do?

Life is a *****, but it also goes on...
