Greetings all,

Lannah Blackwolf here. I wanted to be the first to inform all of our users and posters. Starting on the Tenth of this month all posts will be moderated for content.

There will be NO attacking of any kind from anyone allowed on any of the Threads EXCEPT the Flame Wars. Keep your posts of this style there.

If a post is found to be offensive it will either be moved or deleted. And the responsible party/parties will be banned for a number of days depending on the kind of attack.

If you think you've been wrongly banned, then let me or Spitfire know, and we'll review the situation to see how it can be remedied.

In the meantime, remember, we are all here to have fun and Play Diablo and Diablo II and the Expansion and its various Mods. So have some respect for your fellow players. Newb or Not. Because being otherwise will not be tolerated any further.

Lady Lannah Blackwolf.
2nd in Command of The Clan Blackwolf.
Admin.

Well as much as i approve of this move, im really going to have to watch myself. All my life ive been a little "over defensive". One thing i dont take well is insults. So i am formally asking for a little slack because i do have a problem about this, grrrrrrr!!! :
hehe, plus im a super moderator, so im gonna have to watch others as i "have the power to ban" myself. ill uphold the duty with honor!

I am sorry Nubli. But I cannot do that. If I do that for you, I have to do so for everyone. So instead, you have a choice. You can continue to be a Super Mod and do your duty as per my post, OR, I can make you the ONLY Moderator for the Flame Wars thread. You would have no admin abilities on any of the other threads. I leave the choice to you.

Indeed. Very well then. I expect you to follow up on the new rules starting on the 10th of this month. Nice to be working with you. :)

I don't understand...

I never once whined or grumbled when anybody (most everyone) flamed me. So, are there really such sensitive people on these boards? Shouldn't you institute an "emotional stability exam" instead of subjecting normal people to the rigors of censorship - it would be a whole lot more balanced!

To ask further - why not just have some lowly moderator go through the posts and edit out the offensive remarks? I see no need for such banning from a single over-the-shoulder comment.

And how the heck am I going to have any say in the situation? It sounds like you're going to be in charge of whether or not I find something offensive! When someone calls me an idiot, they're just pointing out a fact - no need to ban someone when they didn't really cause any harm.

This really needs to be re-thought.

It's not entirely as strict as you are probably thinking... However there is alot of inapropriate 'stuff' going on at the moment < Is tired Flame Wars is obviosuly exempt from this so if people have a gripe with someone else, make a new thread in there instead of spoiling a perfectly good thread elsewhere.

To what extent are you going with this? I seriously think that if you don't have the emotional maturity to realize that someone calling an idiot or otherwise is just a name and nothing more, than you have no reason posting. I'd hope that everyone who types here is above... Oh... Say 10, maybe?

Hmmm. Interesting. First off, I'll not delete a post calling someone an idiot. There are guidelines I am following. For example; "Your an a$$" This statement is borderline ok.

I'm sorry you think that you two. But I myself am tired of having to deal with people on here that have no respect for anyone else. The rule isn't as strict as you think it is :)

It was made for those who don't follow the rules. And for people that have nothing better to do than to attack someone and start a fight on here. We all have more important things to do than fight on a forum. This rule effects everyone, including myslef. Consider the site with a rating of pg-13.

It needs to be implemented because the forums need to cleaned up somewhat.

If your not cussing with every other word and your not belittling some poor shmuck then you have nothing to worry about.

Sounds more like you're censoring people that are morons, as well as aggressors! HA! Neat.

I'm anxious to see how this works out. Though, I still foresee a bleak future of people being unfairly moderated just because a moderator takes exception to them... beware the power of the Soviet councils!

Its something like that. lol

Basically, I am not going to allow people to act like every thread is a flame wars thread. And if someone has a problem about being sensored, talk to me or Spitfire about it, we'll convene and make the best remedy possible.

We'll try VERY hard to moderate fairly. *insert fecious tone here*

lol I can understand your point of view. Keep in mind that this applies to everyone. Including myself and Spitfire. SOooo if ya want to cuss someone out do it on the Flame wars thread ok? :) Flame wars will no longer be moderated as of the tenth of this month. :) With the exception that there won't be any sexual posts of any kind allowed. Nor will we accept any racial, political, game wise, personal, or religous attacks on other members. These kind of attacks will result in immediate banning from the site permanently without reprieve.

This is a place to have fun, and there is no room for that kind of behaviour, now or ever. If you think about it, whats it get you or me to see a post like that? Anger? For sure. Retaliation? Most definitely. But there is a time and a place for that. And in this place there is no time or place for it not even in Flame Wars. Certain posts should just not ever be put on these threads. Just use common sense. If you have questions about it then ask Spitfire or myself. We'll try to clear it up ASAP.

I don't want this new rule to drive any members away. I want it to reassure you all that here on this site we value your input and your friendship. We're all gamers right? Then it should be easy to give people the respect you ask for for yourself.
So remember, just be yourself, and use common sense. If anyone has a problem with this, well...let me know, or let Spitfire know.

Even Moderators will not be allowed to post the things I discussed above. This doesn't mean however that you can't argue a point, or defend one, it just means that you do so without resorting to name calling, cussing, using racial slurs, or religous ones. When a person is upset, then anything can come out of the mouth. Believe me, I'm bad about it myself. But I don't belive that our many members here come here to get cussed out. They come here to have fun. I know if I want to be cursed at, I'll just log into B.Net. So anyway, if this post doesn't clear up any confusion, then ask me for more details with a detailed question, and I'll do my best to clear it up. :)

What about retards who start asking stupid questions (ones that were previously answered or so blatently obvious) that you just cant resist the urge to yell out something bad? Should i just delete that post so it doesnt bother me or anyone else again?

some questions like these:
-"hey, ive looked around this site for a few days, where can i get a working maphack?"
-"does anybody have a dupe method?"
-"where can i get these so called downloads?"

I answer these questions at least 5 times a day, with the same answer, www.d2sector.net then go to downloads... its that simple. idiot questions like those just **** me off sometimes.

Edit: apparently the word p*i*s*s is a bad word

You are a moderator. Thats part of your job to answer questions. "Stupid and otherwise."

And no you shouldn't delete those posts as they fail to fit the criteria for deletion.

If they annoy you, well, grin and bear it. I do. I try to ignore most of it as much as possible. If you have a problem and aren't sure what to do then pm me or Spitfire and await our response before action is taken. Ok? Any questions?

Ok, an interesting proposition and i'm fully behind it, there's way to much random hate spam and stuff spreading throughout the different threads, but one question... does this editing apply to all swearing? I suppose I can refrain from using language in certain instances.... but sometimes doesn't it feel great just to finally get all the shi...........stuff out in writing? *this is going to be hard* all i'm wondering is does the editing apply to words like sh** fu** bit** etc, in normal posts, even when they're not directed at someone?

I'm all up for this "Zero Tolerence Policy". Some days I see some people post some pretty "iffy" messages that makes me wonder how that person could write such a thing, and if their computer didn't kick them for writing that. i also see some ppl just plain-out making a$$es out of themselves by flaming some1 else sometimes, even out of the "flaming wars" section. i'll b excited to see what will happen in the future, and heres to hoping that any "Harrycheeks" stay far away from here :) :)

the only doubts i have are these:
1. people following the rules
2. 1 super mod and 2 admins correcting all the bad posts

since baseball started up im not gonna have much time for the computer. maybe i get 2-3 hours a night, and im not gonna spend it all correcting posts! unless you have lots of free time daily, BW, im not sure how this is gonna work.
