Any one played this game? seen it,looks pretty cool but don't know if it's worth buying. any opinions?

It is my fav game for the PS2 hands down. If you don't think you will buy it, then just rent it to try it out. There are a lot of harder modes to unlock and it has a lot of replay value so I suggest a buy.

Great controls (many many many fluid-looking combos, people not too skilled at games can still do them), graphics, good story, just a great game. This is what happens when Sony spends two years on a game, they actually get it right!

God of War is definitely worth getting awesome game... and one of PS2's most successful game.

I rented it from hollywood video so it was like a 5 day rental... I beat it in 2 days. Would definately rent it, not buy it.

Did you try it in God Mode? Enimes do five times more damage, and play with better AI. The game is very difficult then, it took me nearly two weeks. Plus with all the unlockables, and the fact that you will just want to play it again after a month, makes this game have really big replay value and is worth a buy.

Heh, how far have you gotten on Challenge of the Gods? I keep making it to the level where you have to fight the two Saytars to make the platform go up. They keep f'ing kicking my ass, i can barely land a hit.

I have beaten it... you unlock new costumes you can use in every mode but God Mode, they give you power and other things depending on the costume.

I'll give you a basic stratagy, it is not that hard if you have Rage of the Gods.

Jump to second platform, use the Achillies flip it is easy to evade monsters without falling off platform (to do it, press X after evade). Try to only do this when you are close to an edge and evade to the other edge on the oppisite side (with an Achillies flip).

I suggest using the Hercules combo and Lance of the Furries, when and if you use Rage of the Gods (do as soon as you can), just keep using Square. This should finish off loads of guys easy. The Lance of the Furries should knock off the Cerb puppies, but probably not all the Satyrs...

Experiment a little, one thing I never tried that might work fighting Satyrs is doing a Appolo's Accention, followed by Appolo's Offence. Good Luck

Lol yea.. took me 3 weeks to beat this game in god mode >< Easy mode I beat in 3 days.

Mythology is simply that, a myth. It's not real. Anyways, the game's good, and worth a buy. By the way, AlmostDeadly, the way I beat that is just to ignore all others, focus on the enemy you need to kill, whenever they attack they do one of two things: 1. Sweep one hand from right to left across the ground, than rush. 2. Pull both hands up above the head holding the sword. In either case, get out of the way! Just keep down an attrition strategy.

Well, if you stick to what I said and just ignore all other enemies, and simply concentrate, it really won't be that hard. I find myself when I'm playing a game, and get on something that's impossable, try a couple times, and go away for an hour, go do something. I find myself not being good at a game if I'm not cool, and calm. Just try that, if you get even the slightest bit frustrated.

lol. I'm the worst when it comes to those twitch games. I don't get worked up over like, Diablo or gran turismo, but arcade-style games and fighting games just get my blood going. I've broken several PS2 controllers and my old, huge x-box controller in my day. Something about those games, people tell me I'm very laid back until I start playing Soul Calibur 3 or Mario Brothers etc..
