best FPS - Blizzard Sector

just wanted to know what you guys think is currently the best first person shooter game.
--i know halo is preety badass but kinda old and dont want to start that cuz ima suck b@lls and plus there might be hack that i dont even know about.
--i also know that counterstrikes rocks.. but in pc it blows cuz there is sooo much AA and auto headshots and so on. it was fun on xbox...
--i dont know much about battlefield 2... though it seems interesting...

so i want to know what you guys think is the best for a first person shooter.... and nothing like gunbound... :)

I've been very

ted with the latest FPS', including HL2, etc. I just don't think that the game makers in the genre can come up with anything decent any more

Perhaps, try Deus Ex, Doom 2 or Quake 2.

I enjoy both Call of Duty (I only have the first one; I've also played the demo for the second and it was pretty good) and Unreal Tourney.

Counterstrike is good if you can find a server that lets you voteban. Lately I've just been doing deathmatches and I can typically come ahead, 1.5 kills per every death about.

quake 3 demo on multiplayer with rail guns only (practically every 1v1 or freezetag server) is probably the best fps IMO
quake 4 i hear isnt that bad either.. but its hard (on multiplayer)

Half-Life has the best single player of any FPS in my opinion. As far as multi I give it to Unreal Tournament, even with how old the original is I still love it.

pray looks nice but if you have a "odd" mind set well some things look like something else thats been dead for a while and well it can mentaly scar you :P

On top of this, you have the changing surfaces so at points you'll be standing on the wall and stuff....makes multiplayer (aka Multiprey) interesting. As for Spirit Walking and killing souls if you "die" to return back to life, yeh......should be interesting. ~jedi

I love the storyline in Half Life, but I hate the weapons. If you share my opinion and love for Counterstrike, get a mod called Counter-Life. It's HL with weapons from Counterstrike. Extremely fun.

Mod for killing all in one railgun shot is called InstaGib and is probably my favourite DM style of playing in any "unrealistic" FPS.

I heard that Quake IV multiplayer is IMBA ;\ Haven't tried it myself though.

Americas Army is really fun if youre into a more realistic game. I think Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is a WW2 based game run on the Unreal engine, just like Americas Army. Theyre both free too

Quake 4 is actually pretty good.
I hate the half-life series myself.. but I play.. Couner strike and Day of defeat... And CSS.. DoDS. Which are also powered by steam. Those are good. Day of defeat (DoD) can get pretty boring though.

You need to check out the trailer for Half-Life 2, Episode 2, or rather the little tech demo they had for their teleport gun. It is trippy as hell.

In my opinion Unreal Tournament (UT) was the best online FPS ever.. There were so many mods and types of play too.. They like others came out with later versions UT2k4 and i believe a new one just came out not too long ago or maybe be coming out this fall/winter.. Clan ladders were another fun part, with scrimages n so on...

You ever play on Mongolian Champ? I'm DWH_Hunter (blue\white)\Nod32 (yellow\white)\Hunter (mixed caps lowercase, arrow in front, yellow\white)

I used to play ERA\Razers freeze rail a lot, don't as much.
