I think that Source shouldn't even be called Counterstrike. In my opinion it is for noobs. It includes the worst elements of 1.6, such as more dark corners, annoying models, so it's harder to hs and I don't like the way the weapons have been modeled and how they shoot. Completely different, not even close to the same game. 1.6 required skill, that's what made it so successful, Source is for lucky noobs. This is just my opinion...

The engine REALLY sucked in 1.5, I think that's the most important fix in 1.6. Besides that, Galil and Famas add more variety to the game, especially in CWs. Before if You were a CT and You won the 1st round without killing anybody, then You only had 3850 (presuming You bought the kit). Now as a helmet is VITAL in the 2nd round, You would have 2850, and You could only get a Scout from the rifles category. Doing the 2nd round with a non-rifle, such as MP5 really sucks, hence I think that it is really important that the Famas was added in. A decent rifle for only 2250.
Furthermore, in one of the latest patch they added in Terrorists getting an extra 800 for just planting the Bomb, so if they plant in the 1st round and win, they have 4850. For this You can get an AK, 2 flashes, HE and SG. Most CW maps are also advantageous to the Terrorists (with the exception of Aztec), so I think that in 1.5 the Terrorists were "privileged".

Source still blows in my opinion. HL2 is OK, but nothing special in my opinion. Even though I own a supercomputer (AMD64 FX-53, 1 gig RAM, Ati Radeon x800 XT Pro Platinum, etc) and no game is slow on my computer, I still prefer the old games, such as Diablo, Counterstrike, Quake III, the Fallout series...

but still source sucks because M4A1 is too good... This is what i think about it

1.6 owns source... source just looks like its been modified way too much to even be called cs. everything looks totally different, cause of the newer gen engine

i prefer old school cs

There are elements in Source that I completely hate, such as how You can pile up some random barrels and hide behind them in a dark corner...
Such elements are awesome in a single player game, such as Half-Life 2, however in a skill-based multi-player game, they are just distractions. Source is for noobs that lack skill imo.
