What next for my smiter?? - Blizzard Sector

My smiter is lvl 83 and I have maxed out hs, smite and fan. I still have 22 skill points plus what I gain lvling. Should I max out defiance or split it between fire and light res for the passive bonus? Or is there something else I should do?

Light resi is probably your best call. Also, throw 1 into Holy Freeze.

I think u shoud go for defiance like i did.. I got alot of bonus def and my lightning resi is still maxed when convic.. I use treachery and stand in the fire right before i go uber so it will activiate fade.. 75 lightning resi when convic.. But my other resis is not that good tho... Anyways when no convic i get 80-85-80-80..
I use mara insted of hl cuz the good resi boost and the skills add to my bo.. =)

If you have max light resi even with Conviction, you are doing something wrong, unless this Smiter is exclusively for über Trist.

Resist Lightning > Defiance

If hes a PVP smiter, id max defiance, if hes uber id split it between lighting res for the passive resitence. Espically if hes bm smiter, beacuse most PVP smiters on any servers are. If you have no problem using lifetap in duels, then u should have no trouble using Sorb.

lol please explane why do you need defiance for pvp? What does it give? some defence... Who do you need defence against? barbarias... Are you still gonna get owned by a ww baba even if you have 50k def and life tap? yes..

True, any good barb that knows what he is doing wont lose to a smiter so more defence is pointless.

50k defence is minimum if ur facing barbs. my friends old barb had 90k+ Attack rating after casting enchant from demon limb. the more defence the better, if its for pvp.

1) Demon Limb = BM
2) Even without Demon Limb, most barbs would own most Smiters with relative ease.
3) 50k Defence = pointless overkill. Only useful if you're dueling barbs ONLY. If not, your character will be underpowered in every single other aspect.

90k.. wow thats soem wack defense my smiter has 44k and barb 30k...

my old smiter with coh had like 20k def i believe
barbs with ik set could hit him EZ *of course i still beat the shit out of them*
my smiter with eth bug stone had 60k defense
barbs with IK set still managed to hit him, at the same pace as when he had 20k def
(75 block of course)
defense is useless unless u have like.. 100 def, then ur just ****ed..

I don't know about you guys, but when I'm playing pvm, I like to use zeal just as a backup attack, smiting everyone just gets boring.

Zeal/Smite?? I've heard of that build but most people say it sucks is it true?

PvP it does, because, well zeal sucks for pvp. But pvm I like killing with zeal so I can run into a whole horde of monsters and attack them all fast instead of just one at a time with smite.
