What I like doing is switching too secondary wep (cta and spirit) and having charge on left attack and salvation on right to get to opponent than switch to main weapon and than SMITE like theres no tomarrow! Melee Well you might never come up against one but if so wear main gear and smite. Careful tho might have elemental also. Barbarian WW Dont run in these fights so you can use block. I like to stand in place and attack let them come to you! Berserker Same as ww only charge attack him at first. Watch out though massive dmg if made right. WarCry Ok well very simple not hard at all even if made right charge him than smite. Assassin Trap Put on any sorb gear you want and run/charge/tele ( if you using enigma ) around traps until there is a opening than go for it. I also suggest using salvation until that opening appears. Kick Wait until they come to you or if very fast at switching attacks charge and switch than attack. Sometimes they can be troublesome but usually very easy. WW-sin Same as barbarian strategy just be aware they might lay traps altho they shouldnt cause much of a threat. They might also try to mindblast you so be aware of that also. They also deal lots of psn dmg. Necromancer Psn-Bone Can be a pain to fight run around or tele to avoid spirits and spears until you can get a hit on him than attack like crazy. Summoner This is were tele or charge will come in hand try to charge lock on to him not minions and than everything else should work fine. Druid Elemental Use correct sorb gear and if wind just use main (tornado deals physical dmg) . Lots of people like killing the oak first but I like to just charge around the tornados and attack him until he dies. Remember tornado can hit more than once. If fire druid use 1-2 dwarf stars and tele on top of him use salvation if you need more res but, be careful they might cast around themselves or on top so watch out. Fury/Fury Rabies Use melee gear and depending on their build you probely want to get first hit either wait or charge than attack. For rabies watch out for psn dmg can get really dangerous and remember that unlike normal psn dmg rabies can kill you rather than leaving life at 1. Amazon Bowzon These guys arnt as difficult as some people seem to think charge around arrows or tele on top and attack. Again they might ahve psn dmg. Javzon lite sorb gear and try to avoid javs if they are throwing before getting close enough to attack if they arnt throwing however dont charge into them! Their attacks can be very deadly even with sorb gear unless you are very compenant. Teleport on top and attack. BowJav hybrid Tele attack plain and simple shouldnt be difficult cause they have to skill point spread. Paladin Smite Charge or stand still and wait than attack try to get first hit its very crucial wear main gear. Zeal Charge than attack fight like you would a smiter try and get first hit. They might also try and smite. Even 1 point in smite can be bad for you. Zeal/Smite hybrid Fight like he is a smiter shouldnt be as difficult though. Foh lite sorb gear and salvation is most likly a must since they use conviction. Charge them than attack which by now youve probely herd me say lots. ^^ Foh/smite, foh/zeal wear half sorb gear like tgods and one wisp. Charge or Tele them and than attack. Aruadin Wear mixed sorb gear or lots of res but remember more than one sorb is bm so you might get blaimed. Salvation arua on and they probelly attack with charge or smite. By the way, Fort damage > Enigma/CoH damage. It doesn't matter how much you test it, since there is something called a damage gap. Just do the calculations. Stats: on a good Smiter, STR and DEX should be base. Weapon: PB is for PvM. As is Life Tap. On a pure Smiter, that this one is, PCombs are pointless. Salvation is pointless, you should have max resi anyway. Maxing Defiance isn't such a good idea, Resist Lightning/Fire would be a far better choice. Most of the strategies are as if you are dueling 1st timers. I don't feel like going through all of this again, so have a look around in the forum, there are about 1000 threads about Smiters in which I have posted an essay. Overall 2/10. |

Credits: 84 Spent time on board: 23:28:53 Hours Rep Power: 15 ![]() ![]() | maxing the resistance auras give you a passive bonus that increases your MAX resists, not your current resists. therefore if you have max resists and then max those auras your resists will go up farther. this is why you should not be writing a guide, you dont really know how your character works. also your strategies are extremely BM and therefore even if the rest of the guide was good it would be nullified. why the heck would you where enigma vs melee chars? i'm sorry but i havent played d2 for over 6 months and i could still write a better guide than this. 1/10. eh i'll give you +2 for effort so 3/10. |

Enig has alotta benefits. max life and dmg reduce rocks. u need str for coa so if you dont use enig forget the ber ber coh. Also any smiter that just uses axes is too damn expensive to be fun. it'll cost you over a million gold to baal run unless u just stand there. I use my zerk grief for dueling cause it has better range but vs some chars like assasins u NEED the faster attack of a pb. Either way u think about it someone WILL find a weakness in your character. ENIG is my choice cause the str lets you do alot more. and the skills add alot of dmg with only about 30-36 combat smite does like 400 to 450% dmg for smite at combat 41 its like 600% more smite dmg. So forget the fort. I never see a diff other than i cant hold my coa anymore. plus str adds to smite dmg. try taking off your rings for str rings and you'll see what im talking about with 65-70 str from enig its insane. Im not saying dont use other rings but if you check.. str does add to smite. HOZ does more smite dmg than vortex shield anyday. Eth hoz owns but i like just a regular upped hoz cause u can cham it and have no need for ravens(except for sorb). dungos is cool and the vita is nice but if you pair up arach and cleglaws you'll send melee characters packing since they get so much slower. Speed and Skills KILL with enigs run/walk and other bonuses you'll be better off. IMO |

Yes, STR on Enigma is nice, but Forti has other great benefits. As much life as Enigma, more resi (sometimes problematic) more defence (helpful) and more damage (helpful). Also, Chilling Armor is nice. Yes, I do prefer Enigma myself, but I do admit that Fortitude is equally useful. It costs nothing to repair a BA, unless you get it superior (yes, that is expensive). There is no point in having a sup BA on a Smiter. It doesn't matter whether you use BA or PB, you will still come to the same breakpoints, you just need to alter your gear a little. Except for SvS. I bet a skilled Smiter with PB will tear your BA Smiter apart. Exile = PvM HOZ = PvP There is no point in Cham'ing your HoZ. Most of the time you won't need CBF and when you do, you should be using Raven anyway (i.e. vs. cold sorc). Arach + Cleglaws = very BM = for noobs. | |
