Why Can't My Paladin Bot Baal? Too Weak?!! Help me out Please. - Blizzard Sector

Hey all,

I can't figure out why my Paladin is too weak to bot baal. Maybe some of you can help:

My Gear:

Shako
Seraph's Hymn
38 HOTO
Mage Plate 1058def Enigma
Herald of Zakarum w/ P Diamond
Magefist Gauntlets
2x Stone of Jordan rings
Arachnid's Mesh
Silkweave Boots (been swapping these with Sandstorm Treks, can't decide which I like more)

Paladin Torch
Annihilus

I have 73 resists in Hell. I'm working on an UM Rune for the Shako but for some reason I do not think bringing 73 to 75 is going to make a huge difference.

I am a Pure Hammerdin Build, I have base 32 Strength 84 dex and all the rest into Vitality. My Hammers do 13k damage currently.

I have 1576 Health (currently level 84) and will be pumping Vitality every level until 99.

I do NOT have a CTA. I suspect that may be the main reason I can't bot baal. Will getting a CTA help a lot? Also I know 6BO is the best that you can get but what is "good enough"? 3/4bo? or less?

Also I have an Act 2 Defiance Mercenary w/ Vampire Gaze, AP Fortitude & a high % bonehew. Working on getting an Infinity for him.

Switch off arach for Tgods and Treks/Weaves for Hotspurs.

The extra resistance will help a ton VS. the souls and stuff.

Mine has similar equipment, except that he uses Spurs and has 125%fcr (spirit + fcr ring). I would suggest that you do the same, fcr does make a huge difference. So mine uses:

Shako UM
Enigma
Hoto 38
Spirit (+43 allresi base) 35%fcr
Mages
Nagel
Soj
Arach
Spurs
Torch Anni

My resists are heavily stacked and i hardly ever die.

he has 84 dex. i think the problem is that he doesnt have max block. mine sucks in baal runs too cuz i made my hdin a while ago and didnt think i needed max block. but its VERY imprtant, get max block if u dont have. if thats not the problem then its the other 2 comments made before mine.

I do have max block. After Holy shield.

get a 1bo cta.. its good enough until u get more rich.
max block isnt even important, my hammerdin has like 28 block and never dies except vs. nihlatak when he mass corps explode, something that block cant even help with, mine has 3k life tho :P
like frater said, 125fcr is VERY important, losing a bit of raw dmg for some more FCR is worth it, since the more hammers u cast, the more dmg in total u do, and the faster u can tele

btw, hotspurs are like, the most godly boots in the game (after eth treks), i wouldnt try to trade for them, just use treks its ok..

dude... you don't need to switch ANYTHING....

get a 1bo CTA like L4E said, switch out a few scs for RES scs or switch to a Spirit, either or.. the 125 FCR is sexy and works a lot better, however HOZ will work UM'd or Pdmnd'd.

if you wanted to switch:
boots: Treks or 3 x Res Boots or Travs
ammy: MARAS is an EASY switch... res and +2... *** seryphs.. sucks compared to maras for hammerdin.. will allow you to use otehr things since Res.

IDEAL gear:
enigma (90ish)
hoto
maras / +1-+2 Res 10%FCR (will allow much more options)
ptps shako (74)
mage/trangs
Arach
Travs (45+)
45res 35%fcr spirit Sacred Targe
1 x FCR Ring with Res/str/dex/life/mana etc
1x BK or SOJ

if you want the 125% setup, get it using the most MF u can basically, not going to list everything, taking too long. with my old setup 125%fcr i had ~325 mF i think using SCs and gheeds. I find great stuff at that amnt. Friends can attest that 280-350ish mf seems to be the best. They bot and find amazing finds. Friend on b.net forums, who runs a store uses ~280 mf on 16 bots and makes a killing off it. Finds coas, griffs, fathoms, etc every day... depends on # of runs really, as long as u have 275+MF u r set, just run a lot. go for most MF with 75+ Res, Max Block, and 125%FCR... when i didn't have CTA and had bot, i chknd 9 outa 10 times... it realy is a must evn if its a +1BO cta... if you can afford 3-5hrs.. get a 3-5BO cta.. it'll be worth your time bro.
