Best Weapon for Pally in Hell

Other than the Botd and other runewords....what is the best 1 handed weapon for damage for a pally to use in hell?

I currently have a Imp Song sword that does max damage of 1,700 with fant aura(I'm a zealot). I do have a Hellslayer as back up that does great damage (about 5,000 max).

I have typically been using the sword so I can get the added benefits of a shield (and holy shield skill). But I don't do enuff dmg.

I was thinking about trying to trade for a bstar? Is there anything else out there I should consider using?

schaeffer's hammer legendary mallet is good for zealots with good ias.

i have a bstar if u want to trade, but ya shaeffers is probably the best to go with besides botd

i'm a vengeance pali :P *wanted to try out the synergies versus dc* and was wondering what best wep would be... something 1 handed... w/ias... and hella dmg *vengeance elemental dmg based on phys dmg* so... bstar doesn't really work for me.... but in it's stead what should i use? any suggestions? except botd zerker, i'm not that rich

hmm i like gimmershreds, they add hella elemental dmg, i do like 4k with vengeance and synergies arent even maxed

yeah but the thing once again is... the vengeance dmg from the skill is based on phys dmg of the wep.. so would something w/higher phys dmg and lower ele be better?

i dont think so dude, cuz vengance also pumps the ele dmg in the weapon, plus gimmers add about 1k elemental dmg

well if ur vengance and poor id go with bstar ( havent played since .09 so dunno if it changed) if not try schaeffers and just wear sum 120/60 ed/ias armor hehe ... i havent seen the gimmershreds yet so i dunno what thats all about but yea good luck

Thx AngryIdiot and Blackdog for ur help. I guess a shaeffers would be pretty difficult to trade for...But I will try.

What is a botd zerker worth?

If you wan't somethign thats better then B.star use a gimmer Axe the new 1.10 throwing axe as your zeal weapon you can do least 4k-5k 1 handed with it n is as fast as botd zerker if not a bit faster in swinging

botd zerker is expesive just cause of the eth zerker and the 2 rune vex n zod.

Gimmer + conviction owns

The unique Winged Axe with 33% Chance To Cast Level 3 Amplify is pretty cool too.

My pally is pretty good in hell right now. Holy shield of course, and i use holy freeze, maxed with all synergies maxed. I'm using a lightsabre, not to grand, but it's fine for me i guess. I'm level 75, hitting for 2,500 a hit in cold damage, ignoring defenses, and using zeal. My attack rating is out the roof, so im hitting for 12.5k cold damage in series of zeal.

but you lose the ias/dmg bonus from fana!

thats the problem w/using other skills conviciton/holy freeze etc...but i guess lightsabre's not a bad idea... no attack rating needed :) hrm... kinda low dmg tho... damn...

baranars works for that too... 200% AR bonus. Holy shockers are also nice, crazy high max lightning dmg, but crazy low min dmg... like 1-3000

well my pally is very good for pk he is zealot, he wears eth botd zerk, 160/30/30 of stab archon plate, 120/45 visage, 40/15 verdungos, eth sand trek, draculus, viper torc ammy, raven spiral, faven frost and 40/15 zak shield (looking for great eth exile shield. i can sell of those items to anyone that might need. (im qutting on my pally)

Schaefers is by far the best item (non runeword) for zealot

Yea but holy freeze makes up for it, and lightsabre ignores defense. AND it's got very fast attack speed. It's working great so far, unless i might cold immunes. That's why i'm trying to make a new char, with holy freeze, holy shield, zeal, salvation, and SOMETHING else.
