What is the best smiter weapon next to astreons on NonLadder

i was hinking of something along the lines of a Silence Phase Blade

Doom Berserker Axe is good, for the skills and Holy Freeze aura, Lacerator is nice for its speed an Amplify Damage (assuming you don't want to be a little bad mannered), Black Flail / Knout / Scourge is also surprisingly effective, for its huge chance of a crushing blow, and its very long range (only matched by the Berserker Axe).

the range and ias on it help + its cheap to make.

im not sure but perhaps grizwold's weapon could do something since its 4 socketed and all.

I didnt think Smite was any useful unless with Grief. I guess you should use something fast with either lots of CB or Amp. Dont know much about weaps.

I would say a GRIEF or DOOM or the GRIZ Weapon socketed with whatever^^

FourthHorseMan clearly said "nonladder", so no Grief.

Doom and Lacerator are equally bad mannered IMO. I would go with Lacerator for a quick kill rather than slow them down with Doom. Besides, Holy Freeze does not affect casters, but Amp works on everything.

Asteron's Iron Ward has slow, and as such, is also considered bad mannered.

Black is one of the better "good mannered" weapons out there. It has very good range, only matched by the Berserker Axe, decent speed, very good chance of crushing blow, and a minor bonus to vitality.

Griswold's Redemption is, as mentioned earlier, also decent. It has moderate range, but is very fast, and with up to 4 open sockets. There aren't too many things worth socketing though, other than a Ber or two for crushing blow.

I suppose we could all ignore manners and spend 3 minutes prebuffing with every cross-skilling item we can stash up, max out on all slow target items, and max out on all absorb gear, etc. We can abolish all rules and call everyone noobs because it boosts our reputations, right?

Yes, that works. In fact, I see it a lot. It seems to work especially well for Smite/FoH hybrids who could use the extra +skills, resists, and fhr.

I guess even BM items can sometimes be considered GM, and that is when both players use the same BM items.

Other than the slowing and occasional weak Tornado, I don't see much use for it. Stormlash is better in almost every way. I've seen a few people use it, and it rocks.
