This one by Usa today was pretty good also that said Pearl Jam was the best ever...They are pretty good.

2) RHCP

3) Nirvana

4) Pink Floyd

5) Rolling Stones

heh, I think Linkin Park should've been on the list. If they are, I didn't notice them. Black Eyed Peas are on the top 100 rock songs? Are you freakin kidding me?! I didn't think they were a rock band. Besides that... they suck all that is bad.

Yeah I do not agree with some on the list, although I would say that Linkin park isn't exactly one of the best of all time either. I mean based on what? They have had some good songs, don't get me wrong...but not enough staying power.

im just glad none of those shitty new age emo, etc bands arent there, we all know their fans are just a bunch of loser kids with self-esteem issues, and this list proves that even if they win at the mtv music awards, they SUCK! :)

the first list, for those who CANT READ PROPERLY, are the 100 best BANDS OF ALL TIME, NO specific genre. Yes, hip-hop bands exist (black eyed peas)

Well your missing the impact that zep had on the musical industry. I seriously doubt that if zep wouldnt have came around that you would be listening to some of the bands you do now. in this sense yes they are one of the greatest bands ever......or i guess that would make them one of the most influential bands ever. Ya **** it i dunno

Top bands is a matter of history,in the affect of the impact they had on the music industry and the influences over the culture at the time they were popular.Many bands influenced us and your taste in music will always guide what you PERSONALLY think is a *Top Band* A list does not matter....it really doesn't...it is what YOU think about a band or it's place in history that matters. Music is personal,it makes us dance,laugh,cry,remember events...it is personal.

Well, How about you add something to the conversation then? Some of them I don't agree with, but a lot of them I do.

Nirvana was one of the most influential bands in the past 20 years so Im not sure where you are getting that from.

What rock have you been under? Pearl Jam Ten is seen as a very influential album by many musicians. You should have at least heard one of those songs. Aside from the fact that so many bands have tried to copy them.

Led Zeppelin sucks? Man you must really hate rock music then, because along with the stones many many bands have taken something from their influence. Their sounds, their great guitar, stage presence and songwriting was all new frontiers for rock music. I mean they came around in the 60's...

ac dc, metallica and iron maiden should be in there somewhere imo.

I saw 2 punk bands and neither of them should have been there. The Ramones absolutely suck and are worthless. And Nirvana isn't even remembered how Kurt would want them to be. Kurt wouldn't want to be on a shitty list like this.

2 punk bands that could have been acceptable on a list like this are Bad Religion, because they are a great "punk" band all around and actually play music and have lyrics that are relevant. Or I guess alot of people wouldn't consider them punk but Blink 182 because of the amazing music they play... I don't care for the lyrics or vox but the music is great.

Black Sabbath should have definetely been there because they were the first "metal" band to go big. And just a great ass band.

Iron Maiden because they were the best of the NWOBHM, if you don't know what I'm talking about you can probably wikipedia it or something just grow some balls though, and they are just extremely talented musicians.

KISS should not be on the list because frankly, their music is just not that damned great, and they're just money whores.... Run out of money? Lets do a farewell tour again.

Bands that deserved to be on the list...
Pearl Jam, not the best but definetely one of the best of the 90s.
Van Halen is in a good place for an American list.
The Eagles, what can I say just great rock.
Journey, maybe not as high but a classic nonetheless.
Guns n Roses, Great music but Axl's a prick so the deserve to be where they are.
The Doors, Its Morrison, he's a genius.
Metallica, should be bottom of the list because of what they've done for the last 10 years.
