Also learn all the major chords. Thats a major foundation for playing. The chords will make learning songs much easier and learning the octaves will help you scale (solo). If you guys need any tips pm me. Ive been playing 12 years so I know a little bit lol.

Be determined to be the best guitar player you can be, even though it can get very frustrating at times. One of the hardest things to learn is the transfers...When I first started that drove me crazy |

I know they are boring they honestly really help. If u ever practice a speed method or an exercise always use a metronome or a drum beat. It doesnt help to have a that cant keep a beat

If you can enjoy the time you spend on the guitar, that's more important than being able to play whatever it is s do realy well (lol), I'm a pianist so i don't know much about this, but all I know is the desire to play is more important than putting in x amount of hours per day. |

Eh, there's so much shit to learn and it can seem overwhelming but learning to play guitar and getting good at guitar takes a lot of time and a lot of practice and if you're just going to quit after a year or so i wouldn't even bother starting to begin with. but if you have to desire / passion to play i say go for it Last edited by ArrogantlyIgnorant; 12-29-2006 at 04:10 AM. |
