im not shure if this is the right place or not if not please redirect me. i am looking for some place to play that is not neccessarly battelnet i thought i found some posts about other realms but i cant rember where and i dont know how to go to them even if i did any help would be appreicated

are you talking about private servers?

probaly not real shure i rember reading about other places to play where all sorts of stuff is allowed that you cant do on b-net and has other mods and uniques stuff like that

In terms of private servers, you can Google those and find some, like D2Maniacs and others. I won't talk about them in length because I've never played them and am kind of biased again them because of the legalities.

There are also some mods you can find on the Phrozen Keep (and then there is Median 2008, forums no longer on PK due to complications) which are usually played on Single Player (sometimes over TC/IP), and thus are separate from the private servers in terms of them not really going against ToS.

Apocalypse is decent. DST/MSD is pretty cool but dead and the membership process sucks now. Other than that they seem to be dying. Oh yeah Blazing Fire is okay as well. Just check on all the D2 Top 100 lists.
