Onyx is an awesome guy, beware his fiery inferno though. I have played BTH before, but I am too ignorant to keep switching between 1.10 and 1.11 or have both installed to play 1.10 mods anymore. (and it kept on switching back to 1.11 when I have tried downgrading in the past).

My personal current favorite mod is Median 2008, by Laz. Great new character skills, the uberquests which play a big part of the game are awesome, and cool new items. There's a sticky for it in this section if you are interested in checking it out.
