Yes, bluebleeder, as Laz stated in the quote above, a big part of making this patch easier is this part of the new patch:

I didn't even quote the whole part of the change, but this part enough is a big part of why this mod will be more compatible with those who had many troubles with the previous patches. There have also been several skill changes as listed in the changes that improve some of the previous underused skills.
I suggest you update to the newest patch, pull your pally out, dust him off, and see how you like the new patch - i was always having problems with finishing norm with the old patch, but I updated to 1.24 T and finished norm in the first run (i think).
aw man it's easier now? i just didn't get around to finishing yet but i got to act3 and wasn't having problems but it was getting tough. i was gonna tyr to finish it out though. well maybe i'll just revert back if its too easy.

I just have to say, your mod, Laz, hits the spot. I'm currently broke, and only have access to the internet while at work (I don't even have cable..though I wouldn't watch if I did). So I re-kindled and old interest, and went looking for a mod that had something to do with D2. I've tried a few, and your's is by far the best. I needed that SP experience.
I just downloaded the Plugy, so I could shave my inventory with some new chars that I'm gonna make. Thanks to the plugy, and my upgraded char from .23 to .24, I finally can put something in my stash (transfered my gems/runes over for space), though, it's a shame that all those uniques I had found before didn't work for my Pally (have to find 'em again). I decided, that the first char I would make, would be a Pally (I've never created one before, in the entire history of my playing D2). My playing technique, is the same as it would be in HC on bnet. Until lvl 30, who cares how far you are, it's all about getting $$$, saving gems/runes/ and gambling.
That being said, until 1.24, I was fairly decent, getting to A5 at lvl 28. Now? I'm plowing though Baal and his minions like they were nothing. My primary skills are Vortex, which I cast repeatedly, only holding *standstill*, but facing different directions, then walk a little towards the enemies, enough to lure them back, letting them pass though the light, into a vanquished crucify. Insta Ownage. I've crafted all my gear (got the idea from your included txt), including rings & amulets, by simply saving magic (2 / 3 tier) armors w/ 30+ crafting points each.
I'm not sure...because I'm not at my appartment, but as of now, I believe my Pally does around 1100-1500? [Using crucify, is this damage per homing missle, or the actual damage that hit's the monster.] Using crucify as mouse1, and F1 - F2 for Vanquish - Vortex. I think I've played it just right, pretty much cubing runes to make as many Tal Runes as I can, and filling my sockets with them. I'm lvl 45, and repeatedly playing Baal (from the 1st difficulty). Just for the drops, though after about 10 runs (last night), I only found a 4soc unique tier 3 bow. Still, with Plugy, when I make a zon, she'll have something.
I did notice with plugy, where you said skills go into a black hole when you unassign, that instead of the skills disappearing...nvm. I didn't take advantage of it...because that's all I'll need, is a bad or generic save, and then start all over...
Oh yeah, I did somewhat cheat, I made batch files to easily backup/restore chars...which made gambling a little less time consuming (I'd hate to constantly run out of gold, and then go magicfinding)...Sorry.
Oh, btw, is it just me, or does anyone else use the WASD key setup for D2?
***addition***
I haven't read all there is to know about your mod, but do you have item attributes that act as the yin/yang. What I mean, sometimes, whether or not I'm stronger than the monsters, I seem to get stunned beyond belief. Are there item attributes (similar to - cannot be frozen) that counter act this? Does you DEF rating affect it? My defense is around 3k.
wow you did all that at work lol. anyways, i might try it because my pallys a tank pally and is so slow he gets raped going form monster to monster so maybe this will help.
As long as darkness flows through my veins, I will never cease, As long as my dreams still haunt me, I will never show mercy, and as long as evil lives I will never die.....
Yeah, my Pallys is somewhat of a tank, mainly because, I've got 120+ all stats (from Tal's in sockets), and that's not including the pre-rolled attributes on my equipment. So far, I've got 3 sockets on my helm/torso, 2 on my gloves/belt/boots, and I used 3 Ith runes (15%ED), on my unique Demonsong Flamebridge...I also forgot to mention...that I've got full RES on the first difficulty, and between 30-65% in the 2nd difficulty. I hope this can help you...but it's about the crafting. I think, grade 4 rings (for RES), and a simple grade 2 belt for the other res.
And one more tip, if it helps. Gamble, or find a tier 1 rare. Then, upgrade it, as many tiers as you can. Make sure you have plenty of jewels and runes, and constanly reroll the unique, using simple crafts. All you're trying to do, is look for good attributes, and of course sockets. See, the key is...more sockets and better attributes on higher tier items. Of course, many of you know this, and have been playing this mod a whole lot more than I have.
my pally uses lionheart so hes really slow, thats why he gets raped.. i'm gonna remake a char. maybe a zon

Grats, now how about /players 8?

Finally... everybody ignores crafting until they find out they have a 500+ crafting point gap to make up, and abandon the idea entirely.

Watch out, you may indeed get character corruption issues. I've ruined a test char this way.

You need good defense, that's for sure. However, the problem is you get knocked into hit recovery (and locked in place for a moment) if a monster does more than 1/12 of your life as damage. If you are just hovering around the 1/12 barrier, this may explain the differences in difficulty.
And you can counteract it by 1/ getting enough defense, so you can avoid most hits; 2/ the 'xx% uninterruptable attack' modifier. A quick solution for the latter is 'Geas' (Ort-El, shields) which gives +50%.
Also, if you are stunned (as in actually stunned, with the white stars over your head), unlike stunned monsters you can still move but any attack that hits you knocks you into hit recovery. This can be dangerous in WSK with the lightning demon corpses that stun you for 10 seconds when you walk over them, while you get pelted with ranged attacks and get stuck in hit recovery lock.

Actually, there are low level runewords with huge resist bonuses as well. 'Rebel' in body armor is only El-El and gives up to +50% resist all.

Do consult the base item list on the website, because high tier items tend to have rather steep requirements - like 400+ strength or dexterity. Tier 6 ancient armor requires 622 strength. You may accidentally upgrade the item so much that you can never use it again...

Most people don't even know about crafting and just play the mod to killkillkill things (then demand I put in 'better uniques' because all they're using is rares and 'rares are useless').

Firstly, Lionheart is about the defense, not the offense. And this does mean you need good base defense for it to multiply. If you're not wearing at least gothic plate and don't plan on getting more than 300 strength, forget it.
Secondly, you do know you can turn off Lionheart by just casting it again?

thanks jedi for that insight, allthough its my moms week again and i go there tomarrow so i wont be able to try this pimped out version for 5 days, ill dl it nonetheless

What's funny Laz, is that even on b.net, when I used to play, I never got into runewords, except for tal-eth (armor) and sol-ort (helm), then from there, it was all uniques or rares. I'm gonna give some runewords a try, though, as you mentioned, there's a good runeword for res, on shields, however, I use a two-handed sword. I'm waiting for a good transitional set of items, to compensate the loss of dmg my sword gives me. THough, on your second difficulty, I'm finding, that my helm I crafted, gives me RES (gift of shadows), and when I'm in combat, it seems like it's constantly on.
Also, now that you mention it, I completely forgot about hit recovery. I think I have maybe 10%, which isn't enough. Time to focus on more.
Also, I don't know much about modding, and it's probably been discussed before, but how tough would it be, to (i'm guessing on this) redo the tile-set on the randomly generated maps? I was thinking, make them narrower, and add more decorations...like more trees. and less seen grass...nvm, that would effect the frame rate....
Ah, so it's out 3 days early? I guess Beta testing progressed along pretty well, or else you were just to excited to wait for your birthday (happy early one, bud). I'll have to make sure to give it a try even if my zon is still in beginning A1 Terror (or maybe its time to try a new char...).
Bluebleeder, this is just a new patch for the Median 2007 mod; he went from 1.24T to 1.31 (because he can).
--------------------------------------
Oh ya, I just have a couple of quick Q's I'll just ask ya here, Laz.
1) Can you only hold one each of any of the special charms gotten from any of the special bosses? Or is it even more restricted that you can only hold one of the unique small charms?
2) May you only open the Cow Level once, or can you continue to open it no matter what? In 1.24T in Hatred, I beat Infernal and Azmodan, but I decided not to open the Cow Level because I didn't want to waste it and find out that even the Norm Cows are impossible.
Thanx.
-------------------------------
EDIT: Heh, Death Projector is one tough cookie; those crazy Operators got me every time. The only thing I could possible to to try and stop them was use Blindside, but it never got all 8 long enough for me to directly attack the projector. - nice job with that boss (and the mod in general; not much was affected for me because I never really Tal'ed everything and my only character I have now is a bow zon so no skills changed there that I noticed).
Should the cost for the Victim's heart/Meditation Candle go up through the acts? Acts 1-3 for me were about 86k, Act 4 was about 96k, and Act 5 was some number over 100k. This may just be the natural progression of prices that vendors have along acts (ie in a normal D2 game I and I'm sure other people never look at the prices for a potion since it's safe to assume one can always afford them), and it's not really buggy because it's safe to assume that most people will just go to one of the earlier acts to get them (it's going to be awhile if I ever bothered to collect 3 of each - I usually think I'm rich at like 100k gold in this mod, lol).
hey i dont know if this happens or not, but if it doesnt you should make it so that if u drink multiple potions of the same type then make it last twice as long but still the same amount of points or whatver
