Occasionally I solo baal with my hdin. Problem is, he dies a lot. To psn from wave2, or hydras from wave3, of from baal periodically. Just wondering what other people use for baaling on there merc. Or what do you KNOW as the best gear to use. ;As of now he has a rather low insight, a 3.5k defense stone, and a 653 defense dream helm. I think its an act2 HF merc. I don't know why I went HF, I think I'm gonna sell him for a defense merc. I've also used Insight/3k fort/ Pgaze(Ber) on him too. Thanks.



Also, I don't see any reason to make two threads for two similar questions, what would be best for my bowzon chaoser? I was thinking act3 cold merc, and I saw some other threads talking about one, but does stuff like night wish or ormus robe help there cold power? Or should you just try to keep them alive? And for both of these exculde a CoA and go to the next best thing. I don't have a CoA and I'm not sure if I want to risk trading for one to have it poof or something.

Are you saying that your merc dies a lot? Your post is a little incohersible.

Anyway, my merc almost never dies (if only to IM in CS).
This is my Druid's merc, and he uses:
eGiant Skull
eReaper's Toll
eStone

This is a nice combo, since Giant Skull gives Knockback, meaning that he does not get hit a lot, but does keep the enemies busy.

eStone is nice for crazy defense and some resis.

Reaper's Toll is mainly for Druids for Decrepify (removes that nasty Phsyical Immunity), but it also has nice life leech, which keeps him alive.

My merc hardly ever dies, and I've used that gear for a long time.

Anyway, since you are a hammerdin, best merc for a Hammerdin is:
a3 Cold Merc
Lawbringer with max Aura (as opposed to Azurewrath, which has lower aura). Just keep rerolling it in some crappy sword until you get max aura level. Damage does not matter, it's the cold and aura that do. The aura will make sure that those annoying dolls never touch you or your merc.

Pheonix Monarch with high lvl aura. Redemption means that as long as you keep killing, your merc will never die.

CoH nice for resis, I'd definately recommend this one. Or maybe eStone.

For helm, you can use pretty much anything. I've used eShakos and CoAs and for some reason have found Shako to work better.

I had this setup on my Hammerdin and I could Chaos with extreme ease. Highly recommended.

Dunno if this is good but my hdin uses a merc with eth insight poleaxe(i think), a 2.3k eth fort, and andy +ral...works really nice for me. Almost never dies unless cursed by iron

my merc rarely dies using, Dream bonvisage fort and eth insight in a cryptic axe.
