Is it O.K. to revive old threads now? Because I see a ton, I mean a ton of old threads being revived. Mostly it's being done by new members, but I'm not seeing warnings. If it is O.K. now let me know please, there are a lot of old threads I'd like to reply to. Just curious, thanks.

Any old threads that are revived, I close and give a warning to the reviver (assuming I see the thread.) No, it is not ok to revive old threads. It's your responsibility to check the date before posting.

No!!! That's one of the rules of the forum. Those who haven't been warned recently are ubër-lucky

http://www.blizzsector.net/Warn.php?do=ViewMyWarnings click that and scroll down for a list of all the stuff you can't do in general threads. Reviving is about 1/2 way down.
Edit: I didn't know nub posted that, i was trying to load a paint I had of the screeenshot with revival highlighted in the warning things. Sorry.

I actually knew that it is a no-no, I was kind of just trying to bring it to the attention of the mods.

When people started to revive old threads in Tech I just went back and closed every thread on every page except page 1. So far it seems to have kept the revival of old threads to nill.

I'll see about modding the forums so they give you a message "this topic is old. you should consider making a new thread instead" yada yada and not let a person post.. Like before

is there any way to put a timer on a thread so that if it goes unanswered for say, 2 weeks, it will auto close? kinda like the polls do.
