Space-saving suggestion - Blizzard Sector

Here's what i'm thinking. When someone posts, it shows all of that info underneath their username/avatar. I.E. join date, posts, points, all of that stuff. What i was thinking is that we could eliminate all of that information that is not necessary, like join date and points, and stuff, and just leave Post #, contact details, and rep points. It would make all of the one word story things a lot smaller, as the posts aren't large, and it could save a lot of space. thanks for your time in advance, let me know what you think of the idea.

but my point is in threads where it's common place to post less than a line, like word association or ruin a wish or something, it's a large waste of space. is it that important to see when a person joined? can't you just go to their profile and see it? and why does it matter to see how many points they have out of the bank?

It would be a good idea, except you are only taking out like 2 things. Maybe to save space, we could take out the sigs too, and just leave the avatars in.

how about only your FIRST post in a thread shows all that niffty info and the subsequent ones show post, rep and status. that would be better. just give the option to hide the info all the time if your parinoid about people know point count and join date.

i really don't think this is an admin type thing, i'm pretty sure that its just the standard format for v bulletin

That would probably be pretty hard to set up, if it even can be done...

I'm sure it can all be done. Maybe Spit can look into making it an option (taking Join date and Number of points out of posts)

I guess it would save a considerable amount of space.

Personally I like browsing through threads while they display all of someones info and their sigs. LOL It makes finding a post easier if you know which sig to look for.

im not saying that we get rid of anything important, like sigs, avas, post #, or anything like that. i just don't think that we need to see that they joined at this time and have this many points, and are from this place at every post. i agree with Sinner, in that maybe just the first post could do it.

although, if UGM's right and it's undoable even for an admin, then this is pretty moot.

It can be done. On GaiaOnline forums, they have it so the sig doesn't show up until the person's last post on the page... That would save a hell of a lot of room, without any major drawbacks.

Why would you take out the number of points? I think it's ncie to have that there ... I like it just how it is. If anything, just make an option to show sig or not, because sig is the largest part really.
