I see that we have many guests that often visit the forums. And I was wondering if, as a way to make them register, if we could have to have them registered to few the hacks and bots forums and give them a small probation like 1 week where they need to make x number of posts. Just a thought...

There is already a thread about this, we don't want inactive users, because almost every person that registers just to view or download, won't be active

But the x amout of posts maybe a month not a week for deleting account might help, just give mods more chores though

Nonono I mean they need to make x posts within a 1 week probation before being able to download hacks/bots from the forum and reading them as well.

Oh, like Cerb did haha, that would work only problem is that the downloads are on D2Sector, not forums.

That is true, however there are certain downloads that are attained only through the forums.

Well could be a good idea. Have to wait until a mod or two see this, might be a nifty idea.

But I really don't think it will help make them more active, if anything might just make people spam more to get the # of posts

Still would bring a lot of spam, I'm sure a lot of people download stuff for singleplayer and can't get on net long enough to chat, I think it would keep the mods busy I'm sure there would be a lot of spamming heh...

Exactly, good idea but people will take advantage of it as usual, and I don't think the modss need to be banning people damn near 24/7 just because they want to download something.

When Cerb did it he got a lot of spamming...

Hell I even spammed just to download the damn Meph bot

lol it's good to see that even the holier-than-thou like warslvt spam and finnagle and cheat sometimes...i feel morally justified to do wrong now.

Yes I can indeed make it so that you have to register to view the forums, but then Google cant spider the forums, hence a loss of hits via google.
